Many revealing insights into the 2nd Battalion RWF, one example, 30th October RSM Murphy of the 2/RWF was commissioned as second Lieutenant continually bemoaned his fate. ' There was I , a thousand men at my personal control, the C.O., was my personal friend, the Adjutant consulted me, the Subalterns feared me, and now I am only a bum-wart and have to hold my tongue in Mess'.

Well worth the read.
