Re: L/Cprl Thomas Flynn WW2
The number seems to be in a block used for the RWF.
Perhaps originally RWF, then transferred?

Re: L/Cprl Thomas Flynn WW2
Hi Paul,
Thomas Flynn was originally RWF. He attested on the 19 Oct 1939. He was then transferred to the SWB on the 24/4/44. Pretty much two months before the 53rd Division landed at Normandy. Probably nothing unusual about the transfer, this happened quite a lot on the lead-up to D-Day and the NWE Campaign.

Not uncommon that some soldiers might be moved around between different regiments or even corps.
Here is one who started with the Welch into the 1920's then from 1940 served with the Kings, then Cheshire and then RWF from 43 to 45.

Re: L/Cprl Thomas Flynn WW2
Thanks for the information, I have now applied to the MOD for his full service record so hopefully that will answer a few of my questions.
