Searching for info
I am trying to find information about the RWF service record of my husbands grandfather who we believe served in the First World War 158 BDE 53rd Div. His name was Alfred Homer Johnson and he was born in 1899 but we have a suspicion that he might have given a different birth date and the name could have been just Alfred Homer. If anybody could help us to find out more about his time in the RWF we would really appreciate it.
i have tried to attach two photos we have from him

Re: Searching for info
Assuming that the battalion shown at the top of the 'badge' photo is 5/6 RWF.
I'd go for Alfred Horner* Johnson who was 3544 in 5th RWF later renumbered 241303 and served in 5/6th Bn when 5th and 6th Bns merged in 1918.
I have nil further on him though. Where is he from? 5th Bn was based on Flintshire.
* this is how it is shown in the Medal Rolls. A typo maybe?

Re: Searching for info
Thank you for this, He was from the West Midlands, Stourbridge so could have travelled up to Flintshire. It could definitely be a typo. My husband does have some medals of his so maybe these will tie in. Is there anywhere you would recommend to find further info if it is available?
Again thank you for your prompt reply
