Resignation
Good afternoon all
I am afraid that I have to announce that Dave "Jacko" Jackson due to his strong feelings that we should not have changed our name, has resigned from the LofF, I have sent him a letter expressing my feelings on behalf of the LofF that we are vey sad to see him take this avenue and that if he should at anytime change his mind we would love to see him come back. I did explain to him how difficult a decision it was to do this, but in the end it was for the benefit of our future as an association that had to be our priority.

Re: Resignation
I agree with dave the LOFwas formed by members and ee members of the royal welch fusiliers and nothing to do with the RRW and should not be allowed to join L O F or commissioned offecers to attend the dinner only when invited by the L O F all of us not just a few so I am with dave all the way and also wish to leave the L O F wally jones 15

Re: Resignation
As a foreigner I probably should stay out.
But I'd still like to share an experience that is strong with me. My wife and I got married in a pre-medieval wooden church in the South of Sweden. In the early 19th century most of these churches were desecrated and torn down due to a need of building larger churches as the congregations got bigger.
But this parish had another idea. They "suddenly" saw a need for a harvest shelter, so they bought the derelict church from the dioclese. Tended it carefully, no grain was stored. Some years later, they asked to have at least the christmas ceremonies in the old church, as the need for harvest shelters was not as great as they originally thought. :-)
Another decade or two, and this was a monthly occasion. Today, in use as it once was. The parish stuck to their vision, found other ways and got their way. I humbly suggest that resignation perhaps not is the best way forward. What will future generations decide, based on the decisions made today?
Again, sorry if I am sticking my head in where it does not belong.
ATB,
Lars

Re: Resignation
Dear Wally and Dave
Sorry to hear about your reaction to the change of name, but as a stalwart of the L of Fs,who joined in Lemgo, when the Mess as far as I'am concerned was the best, I can only say I'am disappointed in you both .If you think about it before long there will be no original RWF to carry on this unique establishment ,the world is changing, the Army is also, you should do so. I agree it is a shame to lose L of F RWF but to get members to attend year after year we need to change. I for one welcome the change.Well done Martin.

Re: Resignation
Wally, you are a popular, important and famous part of the recent history of The Royal Welch Fusiliers. Without you there is no RWF. If you quit our last bastion, The League of Friends of the Warrant Officers and Sergeants Mess of the 1st Battalion The Royal Welch Fusiliers, those who would do us down will have achieved their aim.
I implore you (and I know how unfair I am being to you) to rethink, please. Besides, what on earth will you do with your VRN `W15 RWF' if you are not?
