LOFs Annual Reunion 2013

Metropole Hotel, Llandrindod Wells. May 10 – May 12, 2013:

This is just a reminder to put this event in your 2013 Diary and share this date with those people who you suspect do not use this forum.

Every year, the LOFs comes together for its Annual Reunion in order to:

· Allow participation by the maximum number of those SNCOs’ who served in our Regiments.
· Remember our Regiments and those who went before.
· Provide an excellent opportunity for meeting old acquaintances and for rekindling friendships.

This prestigious event includes our Annual General Meeting, a Silver Service, 3-course dinner on Saturday evening, followed by entertainment and a guest of honour or two! There are usually a number of members that arrive on Friday night, making it a full weekend of activity.

Our reunions have become well-attended, very special occasions, and preserve the close comradeship developed and enjoyed by those who served in the Sgts’ Mess of 1 RWF, 2 RWF or the 1 R WELSH (RWF)

I know that Martin has his mind on other things at the moment, and quite rightly so. Therefore, I have taken the liberty of publishing a few more details with regard to the Reunion Weekend:

Overnight accommodation has been reserved on 10th and 11th, May 2013 together with a private dining facility on Saturday, May 11th. The Hotel has set aside a block of rooms for our event with a release date 6 weeks prior to arrival for any unsold rooms. What this means is if you intend to stay at the Metropole, you need to book at least 6 weeks before the 10^th May to be guaranteed a room. After that it would depend on availability.

The Hotel offered us a discounted rate at:

£57.00 per person per night to include bed & full Welsh Breakfast.

For the Friday night, guests can have the option of the B&B rate or a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast rate of £67.00 per person to include a 3-course dinner with 3 choices per course and tea or coffee.

You can make a reservation by phoning (Reservations), 01597 823 700. Don’t forget to mention that you are attending the LOFs’ Annual Reunion Dinner, to qualify for their special rates. You will be asked for a £20.00 per person non refundable deposit to guarantee the accommodation upon booking.

At this stage we can't be absolutely sure of where the Saturday night dinner will take place as it will depend upon final numbers, but it will be held in a private room, possibly the Powys or David Spencer Suite.
