Sadly its been reported on facebook that Leighton "Beano" Harford, passed away at 2000hrs 5 Aug 2012. Beano had received a double organ transplant, but after three emergency operations and a hard fight he finally succumbed. I remember him serving with 1 Platoon in Lemgo. He was a great guy, a big part of that platoon and a very tough soldier. Deepest sympathy to his wife Linda and their family.

'Beano' is another of those names that come alive in the mind when you hear it, reflecting the character of the man and impression he left with those who were lucky enough to know him.
