I wonder if anyone have memories of a cpl H O'Rourke, 23916130 who served in Cyprus & Northern Ireland (1962 enlistment), later transferred to the RAOC, earning a SAM & LSGC?
I have come across his medals, hence my question.

Dear Lars,
I did know a Cpl O’Rourke, I think his medals could be UN Cyprus 1966 & NI 1972.

There was only one "O'Rourke" who earned the UNFICYP, he was a Fusilier at the time, so sounds like the chap Glyn
Hi Gernts. I remember Harry O'Roiurke very well. He was a clerk like myself, Bob Bacon and Gerry Griffiths. If I remember correctly, he was a drummer prior to becoming a clerk.
Once he transferred I lost track of him, however, if I remember corerectly, he was a PSI Clerk with HQ Company 1 WESSEX in Devizes.
I would like to know more and if anyone happens to know where he is now, I would be interested to know.
Where did his medals come from please?
Kind regards
Roger
The medals have been with a well known medal dealer, not sure when they first came to the market. After that with another collector, and will now be in my collection.
Many thanks for the information!

Do you think you could trace the collectors of the medals prior to you getting them?
Roger
I think that in most cases dealers or auction houses will not disclose details about sellers, but might pass an enquiry on. Therefore, I believe it might be difficult to get a result.

These medals have been around for quite a few years and must have passed through many hands by now. I have seen them surface at least three times.
It wasn't "Paddy" Rourke that was in when I served I believe he settled in the Wrexham area please don't anyone qoute me on that and I think he was the Bn tailor at one time?
You are thinking of Joe (Paddy) Maguire, and he was the Bn tailor.
