Bloody Hell Rich, thats a blast from the past. I seem to recall he left about or was posted in 79, shortly after the Derry tour.
I think Lenny was a bit of a legend in the 'Dog Handler' world. Something tells me he revcieved an MID for his duties as a dog handler in the Province. Hope Lenny is OK, he was a really nice guy. As Al said, this is a blast from the past
I cannot confirm this information, but I had heard some years ago that little Lenny was killed in a traffic accident in Lemgo near Walters bar. I hope the info is wrong he was a great little character.
Just spoke to my cousin Steven Huntley (Biscuit, Milan Platoon) Who married and stayed in Lemgo after the battalion left for Warminster, He said that Lenny after leaving the army had a flat down by the railway station and ran a pub with Jock the taxi driver, about a year or so after this Lenny got a job with the army dog unit in Padabourne, He confirms that sadly Lenny did die, but he is unsure of the circumstances.
Thanks for all the Posts..RIP Lenny I will pass on this sad news to some of his old comrades in The ADU-NI.
