Sia license

I attended a meeting in London yesterday and it looks highly likely the SIA license is to be abolished,bad news for the training company,good news for the security company,security measures will still be in place as,you will still have to renew your disclousure from the police every 3 years,this was the direction they seemed strongly going ahead in,so anyone applying for a licence keep an eye on developments.

Surely getting rid of this will down grade as such the quility of men working in the Security industry?

if it goes ahead all security companies still have to hold records of disclosures,it will be a lot cheaper for the individual,and lets be honest when you apply for a SIA licence alls they do is check your records but charge you over £200 for doing so,so it will still be difficult for people with a record to get in,saying that you can still apply for a SIA license even if you have a criminal record,so as a company you can still be fined if you were found to employ staff without a acceptable disclosure,most private security firms in Iraq and Afghan i do believe only work on disclosure,

No i have no idea,it is only under review at the moment,so still re apply for your license in the normal way,and wait and see what happens,nice to here from you and take care out there.

Good, the SIA are usless bunch of shaved monkeys. The lookout on the titanic could do a better job. They took 12 months to process my licence application.

Exactly right Dave alls they do is ask for a disclosure and give you a license,you have to send driving license or passport takes months to get the licence, and cost over £200,why not just apply for a disclosure for £10,anyway i can confirm the home office is to have the license abolished when i dont know,

Yes mate they do , but what I'm trying to say is , the quality wothout the correct training to do the CP roll either in Iraq or Afghan will drop if you can just apply for an SIA without doing a the correct courses

To be honest Mark,you will still have to do your in house security course,which is a lot better than a tick test,it will be down to HR department vetting etc to make sure the right people are selected,having to apply for a disclosure will stop the criminal getting in and cost him/company a lot less cash,work history etc is all carried out by the company the SIA are only milking the system,i have been in the industry 15 years and cannot wait for the license to be abolished,i will be able to employ people a lot quicker with a disclosure only from the local police station,anyway Mark take care mate.
