Thank you all for your kind thoughts, it means alot. Mum I'm sure will be smiling as shes now reunited with dad.
If anyone knws someone who isn't on the forum but remembers her, please could you let them know? We dread Christmas cards etc that may arrive from people we may not know & who dont enclose an address so we can tell them the sad news.
Bob you are so right whatever age you are when you loose your parents, its not easy. The funeral is on Thursday morning, please spare a moment to think of us.
Take care

Anita,
I knew Stan & Peggy in the 1st Bn when Stan was the Med Sgt and latterly when I was Chief Clerk with 5 RRF at Coventry where Stan was NRPS Storeman.
I have passed your message to all the 5 RRF pers that I am still in touch with regarding Xmas cards etc. Indeed, I was informed today that the article had appeared in the Coventry tabloids and was asked to confirm whether or not it was Peggy Nye (RWF).
I also knew John when he was in the Pioneer Pl with Strasse, I was in the Orderly Room then prior to leaving the Bn on the E Post Chief Clerk circuit.
I lost my father 20 years ago and my mother last year. As long as we have pleasant memories of our childhood we'll keep our parents very much alive, I do. My great grandchildren, however, cannot comprehend how my parents got by without a mobile phone or a DVD!
Thinking of you, they say time is a good healer.
