p.s.
Any chance of a lead on if they can be obtained from a UK outlet?
Everyone knows Jinks is colour blind!
They were yellow handbags and ARRSE Concurs!!
I know I saw Herforder on a UK supermarket shelf one time - probably Waitrose, but I've done quite a bit of Googling and it seems it's not available over here any more.
Off topic a bit - does anyone remember the free beer stunt in Berlin?
There was (at least) one type of beer available in both the East and West before the wall came down and the exchange rate was 9-1 (9 East Marks to 1 West Deutsche Mark)
So - you bought a crate of 20 bottles in the East, returned the full crate of empty bottles to somewhere like Aldi in the West and the deposit you got back, when changed to East Marks, bought another crate in the East - with some change!!!
The wall came down before I got a chance to try it - what a bummer!
ORANGE OR YELLOW NO MATTER......I'M CRAVING A HERFORDER PILS!
It must be the ice and snow that's making my freezing cold old body reminisce about those heady days in Lemgo
I've got my eldest now to contact the brewery direct (he's fluent in German) to see if there are any outlets here in the UK.

I agree paul , whatever the bloody colour , they did taste pretty good.
All the best in finding them. And a happy new year to you and the family
Thanks Mark and the same to you.
Hi paul
if you have an Aldi or lidl in your area i would ask there as these supermarkets are german owned.and normaly stock german beer
good luck
olly algate
Thanks Brian
I've already contacted them they don't have a contract with that brewery. Tesco many years ago (15) had it as a special deal with them over the Xmas period as did Waitrose, but all fallen through to the multi-nationals that's where they get the biggest discounts and the largest profit-margins.
As long as the dont send over Shultheiss Pils we'll be OK(Sorry Brian that was the only downside of Berlin in the 70's and 80's) that was the foulest beer I've ever attempted to drink. Pauliner Pils from Southern Germany would do if they are in the UK market.

Paul.
If you find any Flip Tops, be grateful for the source.
