R & R

If my memory serves me right, we used to get 5 days R & R on 4 month tours of operational service and this went up to 10 days R & R for 6 month tours of duty. I was wondering how much R & R the guys get for 6 month tours of duty today in Afghan etc? I hope it is more as they certainly deserve it.

it took me that long mate because, it takes you ages to come back to me with the answer to reunions. and then takes you longer to come to one.

Mac, I remember coming back from our R n R in Belfast 81, You could'nt get any more cans of Bow and Clarks pies in my bag. The same tour that Nasher had all his teeth out. Lots of pain if i remember rightly.

Just to let you know the lads get two weeks R & R or at least that's what my son got from his tour of Iraq

R&R for a 6 month tour is 14 days which includes travelling time from and back to Theatre. On average it takes anything from 16- 30 hrs to get to each destination or long enough for the RAF to make sure your knackered by the time you arrive at home or back in theatre.

The boys are now starting to arrive in theatre and and the first Coy is presently going through the RSOI package.
