Does anyone have any idea where any of the following people are Misfit,Big Tom 31, Chris Jones 23, Ray Jones 85 and Bruce Armstrong Jones.
All were in C Coy in Tidworth and Lemgo except for Jones 85 who was in SP Coy Anti Tanks.
Cheers 47
Chris 23 settled around the Penmaenmawr area of North Wales. He was heavily invoved in Mountain Rescue, using and training Search Dogs. Through this I believe he eventually became employed in Mine Clearance worldwide. Bearing in mind the amount of conflict in Europe and elsewhere in recent decades, he has been a busy man. I think someone told me, he was working in Iraq as a civvie contractor, during the 1st Bn's tour.

Spoke to 23 on the phone just yesterday. He is very well and working for a UK security company in Iraq but gets back to North Wales on leave from time to time. I told him if he made the Comrades w/e I'd buy him a pint so he might be there. I often wonder what happened to misfit (Thomas 69 wasn't he?). He was in my platoon in Junior Soldiers Coy at Cwrt-y-Gollen in 1974 badged Glosters. He was a good soldier (then), he lived near Cheltenham, but I persuaded him to remember his Welsh roots and transfer to RWF - did I make the right decision?! I'm afraid the last I heard of him (approx 1994) he was living in the Tidworth area along with RSM Cooper's son, I hope he has his life sorted and is well. Good to hear that Big Tom is well - I gave him a pair of size 14 US Army boots once, wonder if he is still wearing them in his taxi, if he is, there will definitely be no room for passengers!!

Thanks for the info guys,
Ray Jones 85 was from Tredegar originally but moved to South Africa as a boy with his family returned to the UK in the seventees and joined 1 RWF. He went back to SA in the early eightees he demobbed from Lemgo. I met Him again in Wrexham mid eightees but again he went back to SA.
Bruce Armstrong Jones was in A Coy before C Coy was re resurected and I guess then they threw all of us misfits {sorry misfit} into the new Company.
Last time I saw him was at one of the lads wedding in Anglesey Keith was the groom I cant remember his last name {getting old}. AJ was from the Kinmel Bay area last seen early eightees.
If anyone bumps into any of the guys mentioned please ask them to drop me a line via the forum.
Thanks again 47

I know that Misfit settled in Gloustershire, possibly in Cirencester. he was not in Tidworth with Cooper as i often visited him. Check 192.com in that area if you have his full name. I myself last seen Misfit in the services on the M4 at Chippenham in the early 80's.

Soiusont neuf/69 was my first runner until I caught him catching flies and putting them in the APC all in one carrier stew.
Chris Jones 23 was my first Platoon Signaler, who hated me for giving me this role , but as an ex R.Sigs transferee what would you have done? In C Coy we were nearly all misfits and 69 Thomas was not alone.
Big Tom 31 what a gentle giant, but when riled particularly in the 2nd Row, what a match winner.
All of whom were great soldiers, and with whom I would have been proud to go to war with. Ble wyt ti?

Them were the days Sir. nice to see you are still keeping you finger on the pulse, we used to hate any orderley officer coming anywhere near the rattel as we were always having parties down there, I remember one weekend afternoon George Bostock (Drum major) paying us a suprise visit we just had time to throw a blanket over 4 crates of beer, he thought it was a coffee table underneath it.
hey all hope you all had a great xmas.i am in touch with misfit he is doing well down in middx if any one want the number..PM..me
