Hello,
My grandfather James Witt served with the 23rd battalion of foot, Royal Welch Fusiliers from 1855 to 1876.He was also an In-pensioner at the Royal Hospital Chelsea until his death there in 1908
We have some documentation but no real detail of his service. If there is information about him that you have, could you please tell us how and if we could purchase it from you.
We know he served at the Seige of Lucknow and was wounded there.
Any help that you could provide we would be extremely grateful for.
Yours Sincerely
Christine Tyler nee Witt
