I have hundreds of Named and dated pictures of officers and men that had been taken by my great grandfather during and just prior to the second world war. however i cant possibly put them all up. if you are interested in certain pictures of Burma Normandy and France or have any relatives in those battalions during the war i will scour them for you and put up what i have of what you want.

Hello Jamille,
I do not want to seem to be trying to tell my Granny how to suck eggs, but what are the chances of scanning and burning a disc or two of these pictures.I am sure you can be recompensed for your efforts by interested parties on the forum (Me for one plus P&P)

Hi Jamille.

My Grand-father was QM Frank Leigh Hinton. Have you any pics of him?. What is your G-father's name, as he may have been mentioned in his war diary.

Cheers
Rich

I'm looking for Stanley Victor Rice 2nd RWF. All I know is that he was in Waziristan 1919-21 and Waziristan 1921-24 (reg. no. 4183689). He was also in Gibraltar in 1932. I would be happy to see any photos (prepared to pay for a CD too!) and also have a number of photos of him and others to share.

I've attached a photo of Stan to help any searches.

Thank you in advance!

Dear Jamille,

Your Grandfather's collection sounds very interesting. Colonel Richard Sinnett and others are writing Volume Five of Regimental records which covers the records of the Regiment principally during the 2nd World War and possible the inter war years. This period was covered by the book 'Red Dragon' but it is not laid out in the same format as the Regimental Records series (one to six). Red Dragons are rather scarce. There may be something in your collection that would be of use to the records and it would be useful if the Regiment could see your collection.

The Regimental archive is now located in Wrexham, near RHQ R WELSH and has many photographs in its collection. I am sure they too would be very interested in your collection. If you would like to contact the Curator, Brian Owen, his E Mail is rwfusiliers@callnetuk.com, he would I am sure be most interested. I don't have his number to hand but I will track it down.

with warm regards

Robert Lake

Please forgive my neglect to respond to your posts:

Looking4Stan: My Great Grandfathers records do not go that far back I am afraid - his records date from 1938-1946/47 (I think)

RichieRed: My Grandfathers name is
Lt Col A.H Williams (Albert Humphrey) and I will check my records for you to see if I can find Frank.

Barbs23 - I do indeed have pictures from Burma.

Bob Lake - Thank you for your interest, I will contact the curator and arrange a time to bring my collection up.

In the meantime I will try and scan and burn all the pictures I have of the RWF and send them to all those interested parties.

Jamille, I notice that Colonel Sinnett has a record of your father Lt Col AH WIlliams DSO OBE TD which shows an obituary was written in the Regimental Magazine 'Y Ddraig Goch' (Trnasleates to: The Red Dragon) in 1984. The Curator could give you a copy.
