Im surprised that no mention has been made on the forum about the 40th anniversary of the Investiture of the Prince of Wales at Caernarfon in July 1969, On Sunday there was a fantastic Four hour documentary on BBC showing the whole parade and the Investiture, The Royal Welch provided the Guard of Honour for the Queen, Maj. Inkin was O.C., some old friends on the Guard was Sgt Carter and Cpl Colin Hancock, Im sure that Tom Griffiths was also involved, the pictures were a bit vague for my old eyes. I remember the battalion in a tented "village" at the old Llandwrog Airfield about Five miles outside Caernarfon, having to get up about 4 am for rehearsals in Caernarfon, on the day I was posted opposite the Prince of Wales hotel on Bangor road for many hours wishing I was inside having a pint, cant remember if we had any grub, I have posted the only two photos I was given, it shows a section, inc Me, Sid Hill and i think Pete Cave forming up ready to march in to our positions, Anyone have some more photos or stories to tell?
