I am just wandering if anyone would be able to offer any further information about my partners father..... his name is Christopher Johnson....we are unsure whether his nickname was 'Knocker Johnson' or if that was someone else.

He is definately on the back row of the following pic - which is in the gallery in the 1970's pics... on page 33:

We know that he was in Lemgo, Ireland etc.. and that he also boxed.... any info would be much appreciated.

In the picture, was he the gent with a tash in the middle of the back row? If it ius, he was a Regimental Policeman. Sorry cant tell you more, I did not rejoin the Bn fm a posting until 1981.

If you go to Forum Main Screen & go to the bottom, click on John Turner and that will bring up his profile, use one of the methods to get hoild of him, or you could leave the way things are and John may get in touch with you direct.

I was in A Coy with Johno(thats what we called him) in Lemgo. He was the OC's driver during my time, and then moved to HQ Coy to become a Regimental Policeman. He was a good lad, and popular in the company. A good reliable soldier...an old hand.

Ar Al Tha,s Johno he was 1pl sorry Steff for the confusion, as I believe in the photo there is another Johno from B Coy so yer John Turner not the man then could be the Wetherson's from Rhyl Ray being the best bet I believe Gaynor his wife is on the Forum or Sibthorp but he is not on here I don't think could be a Facebook challage there as Sibthorp who was A Coy also went on the RP (Cop,s) at the same time as Johno.

I remember Johno. He was in A Coy in Lemgo & also went to be a RP aswell. I also think that he was from North Wales (Rhyl) ?

not sure if u are all hiiting th eright knocker was B coy for a long while 6 plt. I remember him in B Coy when I joined and BG saying we would both be on a cadre together I moved to sigs, he must have left, same as den grenne.

I think that from what info I have had so far, there are 2 Johnsons about.... one is 'Knocker Johnson' who is not the right one and one is 'Johno' who is the right one... and Johno is on the back row of the pic with the tash..... who went on to be a policeman and then a CO's driver.

He was good friends with Gaynor & Ray we think.......

Thats him Steph, quite dark skinned....I dont remember him leaving the Bn, I presume it must have been at Warminster 82-84. What is he up to now?

If i got the right Johno, he was the co's driver on the rover group Belfast 82, he was married to a girl named Angela and had a pad in beasterburg in Lemgo, i bumped into him a few years ago in Barry island, he was walking his dog. And if i remeber right he said he was driving coach's in Cardiff and lived in St Mellons.

The only Johnno I see in the picture is the one next to Jaymo 15 . This indeeed is Knocker Johnson of 6 Plt who was a driver , never RP staff to my knowledge and as stated before , I think that he left about the same time as Den Green .

Ray your correct about the OC APC driver,knocker stayed in lemgo with his german girlfriend,that i think he was marrying.When the battalion left for warminster,along with Paul Cohen

Chris Johnson was on the RP Staff in Crickhowell with me in 83 when i returned to the Bn in Warminster, Chris was still there i think he left from there, he came from the Cardiff area i think
