View Full Version : Berlin trip Sep or Oct
I am going to organise a trip to Berlin for a weekend either late Sept or early Oct.
Anyone who was in berlin 89-92 is welcome to come along, or anyone else for that matter. We all talk about he good old days, so it would be nice to go back a few years and see what has changed. I would love to here from my peer group, either still serving or the ones that have got out. I will organise the flights and the hotel. We could start with a trip to 'Monty barracks and a Bn Run lol'! and disapear into berlin for the weekend. If your interested then please getin touch. This is for the guys and thier partners, it would be a great laugh and a good chance to catch up.

Hi Brian,
I have spoke to scouse a few time about it, but was not sure he was organising one! I have spoke with him, and he and alot of others are very keen to come over that weekend.
I have looked on the Internet, and as your probably aware the hotels are not cheap. Im sure alot of people like me are happy to pay 100+ a night but not everyone will. Could you have a look around at a few hotels in the centre to see if they could offer a deal on a block booking?
Cheers,
Bean

I have looked at a few hotels and I will go firm on a hotel by next week. I will ring them to try and get discount on a group booking.
The date is confirmed 18 - 20 Sep 09.
Still about 10 people comfirmed at present. It should be a good weekend.

BeanYeah great weekend, would be better if we stuck to the original criteria about those who were there 89 to 91, enjoy all that go but taking women or partners done it for me whats that about.

Jase,
Is this because I won't lend you my jeans again? Hey I'm sure sharon would have a good laugh mate!
No plan survives contact with the women, I was more than happy to go stag.
Hope you reconsider!

Hi guys, having recently come back from Berlin budget shouldnt really be a problem its still far cheaper than the uk even with the rate slowly climbing. I stopped in a hostel along with a mate, 10 euros a night with free breakfast (German style) from 7 till 11. excellent hostel and very well organised, secure and they have dorms that sleep up to 8 so just like old times ;)
heres the link if you wanna check it out.

How rude!! Could I (and all the other ladies who are part of this forum and have been or are part of the Regiment) please have a good reason why you think women shouldn't go? Lucky for you I can't go but we served too, albeit in a different way and I'm sure any 'woman' who does go is not out to spoil anyones fun but to have a great time too!!

That's me out then isn't it! I think I contributed a great deal to the battallion i Berlin, providing a service as a hairdresser / barber to all. I was there 89 - 92, did you leave early then Jase?

Now its something completely different. Have a nice time all that go.
stag golf trip is always an option butt

I don't see there being any issue with who goes on the trip. Im sure we will all have a few beers together and then people will just do their own thing anyway. Im sure some people won't wanna visit the same 'establishments' as everyone else? Just my thoughts.

We could just go anyway Anita, Berlin is a haven of girly things to do and see...like Museums, shopping and going on the razz with the girls.... ...but oh no, there is another reason I couldn't go...because......I'd rather have my organs ripped out with a can opener.
Thanks for the lovely welcoming invite tho Jase. :cute:

Thanks for the lovely welcoming invite tho Jase. :cute:Sorry Sharon, really I was under the impression it would have been a trip for boys only. Please accept my sincere apology to you and all of of the forum ladies. I should have taken into account the thoughts and feelings of others before I threw my teddy. Sorry.

Don`t see why you should apologise Jase as the original plan was for the lads to go back and visit our old haunts :arghh:didnt know the women were going to jump on the band wagon as well
:winker:
Like I said: organs= can opener. I think it was the actual delivery of the statement that made for abrasion rather than the sentiment.
Anyway, our bandwagon is prettier, more fragrant and a damn site less hairy!:yes:

I almost feel sorry for your hubby Shar. Does he sit rocking in a corner naked, sucking on the corner of a blanket :winker:
I'll have you know he's very well cared for......mostly. :winker:

OMG!!! Didn't realise this forum was so full of unwelcoming males. I must admit I haven't read all the back posts but I don't recall there being a mention of a lads only do. What makes you think that the women of the Battalion didnt make a valid contrubution to the running of it? We served too albeit in a different way, don't you want us on the Forum either or will you tolerate that so long as we keep in our place? Who do you think you are? Males and females serve together on this Forum and in life ~ GET OVER IT!!
