I have just created a social group for ex and current members of Support Company. Please join.

This was discussed at last years Comrades (07), but unfortunately never went further than that.

I know I was the instigater behind it, and thought it was a good idea at the time. I was unable to go to this years Comrades as I had a wedding to go to.

We have a Support Company booking form to see who is interested in maybe doing something for next year. I know it is a long way off but they do take some organising.

I see that there are some new members joining the Forum who are from Support Company, so maybe we will have more interest this time around.

I am willing to start the ball rolling if the interest is there, which I'm sure there is.

Keith (14) did you get my message, if so please send me an e-mail.

If you are interested and have not put your name on the list would you mind doing so, and tell other ex-RWF who are not on the Forum to join, or put their names on via you!

To register your interest, please post here, or PM me

Many thanks

Clive

Hi Jeff, (Tom 51)

I'm recovering after the op on both my knees so I'm not able to drive for six weeks, also not able to put ant weight on both legs. Still able to drink alcohol, not much though, so I have asked my wife to drop me off.

She is thinking about it. She said if she could go Christmas shopping to Swansea then she would drop me off.

Keith,
I see that you are a superstar, with being on the tele!

I will ask Bob to put it on as an announcement.

I'm trying to generate as much interest as possible. I have spoken to Bob Lloyd and he will consider our request, pending his duties that weekend. Have you spoken to Bob Powell and others.

We need people to register to gage that interest.

Cheers

Clive. As I had a quiet morning @work i have gone through the 25 pages of Forum members and have sent an e-mail to those who I recognised as being in Support Company.
I hope that this will start things going.
I dont think I can do any more at this time.

Keith,

I'm going to send an e-mail to all the comrades groups so they can mention it in their next meeting.

Clive Rees (08)
19-11-2008, 14:40
Cancel that Keith, they haven't got e-mail addresses. I'm going to have to work through the list and either phone each secretary, or have a look if that Secretary is on the forum, then send them an e-mail with the details.

Just a quick introduction.
My name is Nigel Price (obviously) and, as a very raw National Service officer, I was i/c MMG Platoon 2 RWF based at Tampin, Malaya. That was in 1956, and anyone around from that era will probably recall Sgt Blewitt who saved me (and the platoon) from disaster more times than I can remember.
Nice being here after so long.

Hi Nigel,
Welcome to the Support Company Social Group. We will be having a reunion at the next Comrades so we hope you can attend.

Take care

Many thanks for the welcome, Clive. I would very much like to get to the reunion but, at the moment, it depends on things outside my control (like a hip replacement op). What I will probably do is buy a ticket and then starrt praying.
Joining here motivated me to get a copy of the Regimental Records Vol 6 which jogged my memory into remembering I am doubly qualified to be here - for a short (and largely inglorious) time I was also I/C the Mortar Platoon.
Again thanks and hope to see you at the reunion.
All the best
Nigel

Clive Rees (08)
24-03-2009, 22:07
Hi Keith,

Sorry I haven't been in touch, yes got the booking form. I'm still waiting for a reply from the Uni, they are really slow.

I've been busy this week but I hope to e-mail all the Branch Sec's soon with the venue price etc. If I haven't got their e-mail then Sue will forward it for me when she does a mail drop fro HQ.

Regards

Clive
