It is with great sadness to report the death of Bill Speed from Deeside, who passed away this morning (10th Mar 09).
Bill had served with the 2nd Bn RWF in Malaya (53-56), then in Berlin. Bill was a member of the Signals Platoon and part of HQ Coy under Lt Vivian during the Malayan Campaign. He was a well known Bn footballer.
Although he was not a member of the RWFCA, but was a regular member of the North Wales Malaya and Borneo Veterans Assc. Bill was a Royal Welch Fusilier at heart and will be sadly missed by all.
Details of Bill's funeral have not been finalised as of yet, but I will keep all members posted.
Our Thoughts go out to Bill's wife, Family Friends and Comrades at this very sad time.
"Old Soldiers never die, they just fade away"
Deepest Sympathy
