I have recently added the India General Service Medal od 1854, with clasp- Hazara 1891 to 2022 Pte J Jackson, of the 1st Battalion.
On reasearching the medal, there was a note against his name on the medal roll, which means he died in service. My researcher came up with a list of possible names from the Army Deaths entries.
Does any of the place names seem likely from the battalions movements during this time?
James, 21, Ferozepore, 1891
John, 28, Koldana, 1893
John, 23, Lahore, 1892
Joseph, 25, Kasauli, 1892
Joseph, 24, St. Lucia, 1895.
