Since we became 2 Battalions, I am wearing my mess dress for the fisrt time next Friday and was after some info:

1. Do we have to wear the green waist coats, or have i got some sort of grace cause on posting?

2. What bombs do we wear as a SNCO, i have seen pics of men in the battalion wearing their new NO2 bombs is that correct?

3. Can you wear the NATO 5 medal as a minature?

Am looking at Capt Crimmings for help with this as i remember you had a lot to do with dress regs when we came as 2

Beefy,

To answer your questions, firstly the waistcoat issue. There is no grace for the green waistcoat, all serving at E should have the green waistcoat with Royal Welsh buttons.

Yes all CSgt's and below wear the NO2 bombs on mess kit.

You cant wear the full size or the minature medal. I've given mine to the kids.

I hope this is of some assistance.

Cheers Karl

Beefy,
How are you keeping? You have got the answers on the mess dress however have you been told that the Regiment will be wearing the new cap badge with a green square backing on the 9th March 2009? This only applies to the metal cap badge at the moment, we are still waiting for the embroided cap badge to be approved. Can you spread the word in Brecon.

Speak to you soon

Beef,

Apologies for not getting back to you, i have been off line for a short while. Karl has answered your questions.

The green waistcoat should be worn by Officer's, Warrant Officer's, SNCO's and JNCO's, the only exception to this was granted to those with less than 5 years service to do from 01 Mar 06 (grandad rights).

Dont forget badges of rank are worn on both arms.
