Not having been a member for long there has been plenty of reading to do on the forum . What a great forum it is . So many names are being refreshed in my mind with so many memories . All I hasten to add , good ones . All this got me thinking , there have been many characters within the Regiment over the years and these characters to some extent , made the Regiment great .
I have fond memories of certain characters performing certain songs that will always belong to them . Examples that spring to mind are;
Skipper Wood - The Ugly Bug Ball
Nick Ravenhill - Gringo
Charlie Fenton - Its a Long Way to Tipperary
Richie Irvine - The Quartermasters Stores
There's a few to get you started , how many can you recall .

Georgie Kemble Cardiff born cardiff bread
if anyone has the time and you want to put pen to paper and send these songs to me i will make up the song sheets and put them in wallet in both messes and try to revive some of the old and new favorites they can either be posted to me as CSM FSP Coy or just place onto here and i will copy them. we only get to really sing at Dai,s day Alma or Xmas day but we could try and revive this in the messes. PS have just spent a week revamping the Mess and found some really old presentation which are now repaired and back on the wall where they belong looking forward to the LOF meeting soon

That's right , I seem to remember Charlie Fenton and Garby doing "We are warriors" Quite a classic when everyone had had a few beers.
I'm sure that Joe Grant used to have a special one that he kept for a Sunday afternoon in the Red Dragon Club . He always used to get cut short by his missus coming in and saying "wer my joe , dinner reddy"

Not sure really Clive . According to Matt 5377 Post #8 , it seems they only sing on a few occasions . I remember that whenever there were more than about six of us we would always sing . eg On the backs of the 4 tonners going to the ranges , in the white coaches , in the messes and Naafi and in the town on a night out . Great days . No matter what Company you were in , you all joined in . We even had Company songs , same music with just a few words changed depending what Company you were in , eg
F$£%^k the alphas and the bravos and support company , there's only one company in the regiment and that is company C .
Good days
Bwonco Jenjins The lobster
Dennis Williams 27 (stumpy) If I were a rich man (from fiddler on the roof)

Those were the days.Remeber these classics

Clive as time rolls on things change, and the younger guys do need educating in the songs this is true, but you need the characters to do it,
the old max boyce songs are the same a lot of the youngsters of today dont know where they originated, my boy asked me when i was home, Dad where does Hymns and arias come from that they sing at the rugby,
I quickly downloaded max boyce live at treochy from amazon and sat back and watched his reaction to some great songs and poems, I THINK HES EDUCATED he now knows the full song not just the chorus
Sox how right you are it was'nt the song but the charecters who sang them if you had a pint you had song. Ahhh wonderfull memories
mogs where you say about song and a pint Ballykinler Phil Rees company Commander Inter coy choir comp he got the whole company in the stores couple of beers each he said if they got a beer inside they will sing we did but i think Delta's won it with their Dean Martin little old wine drinker
