Gwyn,

Your Sending & I'm receiving.

This has reminded me of one of the funniest radio coversations I ever heard. (Callsigns will not be correct)

"Hello Zero Alpha this is Eight Five Bravo, I can hear you, but you can't hear me"

"Zero Alpha, Roger out!"

Er, excuse me but I did not start this thread.

It says, in the headings on the General Discussions mainpage (listings) 'Thread/Thread starter' and it's false info - I never intended it to be a thread, it was a post in Gwyn's thread, which has been moved here by a moderator.

Whoever moved it here started this thread; not me.

I also made another post in that thread, which I can't find. OK it was probably a bone post, but did this subject of deleting and moving members' posts not come up recently in the jokes forum and was it not decided that if that happened a reason would be given, or at least a notice, with or without reason. If it's offensive stuff then stuff the reason, or the notice. Or is that just for the jokes forum?

It's no biggie - just wondering!

John,

The post was moved here from the one you originally posted on because it was off-topic and it was better suited to a different forum. If you don't want it to be a thread I will remove it.

The other post was deleted having been deemed inappropriate and, as you said, "it was probably a bone post".

As a veteran poster, the quality of your judgement and values from your many past posts speaks for itself; however, this one didn't add value to the current discussion.

As I said it's no big deal and was just wondering if I'd remembered right about what happens when a post/thread is deleted or moved etc.

I did remember right - here is the relevant quote from the jokes forum (which I can't do a proper quote on as the thread was closed)

"Basically, if a moderator thinks a post/thread is unsuitable in any way he/she has the right to modify the post to remove any offending material. In certain cases they have the right to delete a post/thread in it's entirety.

However, in future, a record will be kept of the original item edited or deleted by a moderator. Moderations and deletions will be clearly indicated in the text. When the entire text of a post is deleted, headers will remain intact. The poster of the message will be informed by email or PM of the modification/deletion.

All changes will be signed in a way that allows you to identify the moderator responsible"
