Well that site did bring back some memories!
I see that one thread before Xmas was calling for a reunion visit to Berlin by members who served there in 1989etc. I wonder what the uptake would be for a nostalgic visit to Lemgo? Anyone upto organising that?

Hi Al
Won't that make a reunion trip that much more interesting????

Still think it might be worth considering a nostalgic trip back to the old watering holes....just for old times sake.

I remember that shop - apple strudel with cream from a machine. I also remember the butcher near Walter's bar that would ask you how many pounds/ounces you wanted, rather than kilos/grams - nice touch!

What about the barber some way behind the barracks with the shaky hands - styptic pencil always on hand!

Yeah i remember him, his shop was near a bar used by the pads on the estate at the rear of the camp.
