I had a Ward in my brick in 86 - a drummer, but that was Nige Ward - rules out 'SJ Ward' and I'm sure his service No would have been senior to 2506..... anyway.
was that fus Ward of 1pl A coy 1 RWF.
No! Its not him. With a 25 number the person Richard is looking for would have probably joined in the late 90's early 2000's

With that number it will possibly be a Fus Ward that was in D coy 12plt Ballykelly. Gavin Spencer, Nige Neal still serving will know for sure.
We have a Fus Ward serving in FSP coy Drums Plt i will ask his first name tomorow and check his Army number
i know the name but cant put a face to it , im surethat he joinedthe drums with hugo and mike cornish

We have a forum member called Steve Ward (steveward12345), although he hasn't been on this site since Jan 2008.

That might be him, Nige Ward served with the Drums in 86 but is number started with 24 or 23 he was in the Battalion in Lemgo. So Steve Ward looks more to be your man.
Ref my last about Fus Ward currently serving in the Drums Plt his name is Stevan ward and his army number starts with 2516 hope this helps

Very many thanks to everyone for their input so far. It is very much appreciated.
Reading through the posts it looks like the most likely candidate is Scott's suggestion.

Although Scorch came very close - but a digit different. . .
Anymore suggestions chaps?

Richard.
I was 12 Plt Sgt in Ballykelly 1999 - 2000 and I did have a Fus Ward which would fit the army number of that period. He got out at the end of the Ballykelly tour to move back to Wales.
Once he left I lost all track of him, however some other RWF soldiers still serving with 1 R WELSH may know his whearabouts are listed below.

Sgt Andy Harrison - FSP Coy
Sgt Steve Hansford - Med Center
