Just to let everyone know my Bro John Nye has today undergone an operation to give him a new hip. He's in the Bone hospital (cant spell orthapedic?!!) in Oswestry. As I type I'm waiting for news of him (its 4.20 or 1640) on Tuesday. If anyone is near there I'm sure he'd appreciate a visit or maybe a few messages on here that I can send to him to help him on his road to recovery.
Any thoughts and prayers would be appreciated.
Thanks
Take care all

Get well soon John. My neighbour (in her seventies) had a hip about two years ago and she was crippled with the old one. I kid you not she now walks like a woman 10 years younger and I cannot keep up with her pace with my dodgy knees. A mate of mine (55) had to have the same op and the advice she gave him was: "do not rush it. He listened (incredibly) and has made brilliant progress.

Make a speedy but slow recovery. My sis has had both hips replaced, so please take care.

Kind regards

Roger

Many thanks it's good to be home.

Hello John,

Sorry to hear that you were held up in hospital and I am glad to hear that you are now on the mend, make sure you keep those big boots of the ground for a couple of weeks. Hey one to laugh at, I can still remember the time in the Falkland’s when the out board motor on the assault boat packed in and we were quickly drifting towards a minefield. I’m sure you won’t want to remember, when we jumped overboard to try and steer the craft away from the shoreline and Roy Price 18 pulling you back on board after you disappeared under the waves.

Oh what fond memories, I think we were more worried at the time about what was swimming in the waters around us, than entering the minefield

Get well soon all the best
