We recently had a query via email regarding a soldier called Idris Evans who was killed in Korea in 1952. We believe Idris was a member of the Welch Regiment and was transferred to the Black Watch and sadly killed at The Hook. He came from Glan Conwy.
It has been suggested that he may have originally been RWF, although this is just still being clarified. Anyway whilst doing a bit of digging, Richard Ward found an article from the Stars & Stripes magazine published in 2001. I initially just skimmed through the article, however later I read it in detail, its a sad story, but brings sharply into focus the loss the families still feel 50yrs on, and the waste of a young life unfufilled.
