I have received the following response from the museum curator Brian Owen, regarding the move of the archives to Wrexham:
"Wrexham is gaining momentum. Before we move we are doing a full collections survey to gain as much info as possible regarding individual objects and documents, rather than just the bald catalogue entries we have at present. Our catalogue will be expanded to have details of people, places and dates, cross-referenced and fully searchable. This searchability will be given public access so that the research process can be greatly speeded up. This should be all completed.along with the move in two years. The public-access catalogue will eventually be made available on-line but that will be further in the future!"
This sounds quite exciting, and is something that will push the museum's public access to another level. There may be some more museum related news in the next few days..........Watch this space!!
