Caernarfon Club

In the 80's a club opened in Caernarfon, I think it was affiliated with the Octagon in Bangor - can anyone tell me the name - it's killing me not remembering :))

I know there was one in the early 90's called the Magestic, i think it burnt down , not sure it could be that .

It was before that, it had different names over the years, but I can't remember what it was initially called.

Yes indeed it was the Majestic......owned by the same folk that owned The Octagon in Bangor.
Majestic was set alight .....burned down to a cinder many years ago now.

Im currently a PSI in Caernarfon Ta centre,after some enquiries the answer everyone has given me is the same as what Glen has posted. ps the Octagon used to be The Dome i believe

Was it the Marconi Club owned by an ex Maj of the regiment??? I visited it in 1974ish time during the Presentation of the colours "Slate Quay Guard" it was up the hills a bit but not to bad and the ladies well they were magical!

the MARCONI club was owned by MAJ BILL ELLIS JONES ,abrilliant officer . he was senior major of the 3RD BATT. RWF .for a few years, he was the mainstay of the Welsh three thousands for many years.

It was called The majestic...then it was called The Dome ....then the lad from Talysarn burnt it down to a cinder lol.
The marconi was many many years ago in a small village called Penisaerwaun..its now an old people's home. Now, correct me if im wrong but ive always been lead to believe that Marconi was run as a strip joint.
Going back to the old Majestic......it was nextdoor to the Celtic but was never part of it. There was a small lane running between both buildings......although i never walked up the dark lane after a few beers LMAO x 10!!!!

Th emajestic was the name of the Cinema which became a Night club in the early 80s but wouldbut as I joined up in 79 I cant remember if the name changed or not. We probably called it the majestic anyway

5haron, i can confirm from a reliable source here(Norman caretaker Caernarfon TA Centre) that it was called Majestic on opening and later re-named the Dome, no other name has been used for it. There has been a couple of other clubs but at different locations.

There's a church nextdoor.......still there nowdays. Where the majestic used to be ....is just a car park now where all the buses going to the Celtic Royal park.

The first club that I remember in Caernarfon, either late 70s early 80s was the one next to the now Argos store, it had three floors, I cant think of the name now but I will find out, it might jog your memory.

it was called "THE DOME", on Bangor Street next to the Royal (Celtic) Hotel. But known to all the locals as the Majestic because in a former life it was the Majestic cinema, i remember going there in the 1960's to watch the Ten Commandments.
It was burnt down in 1994 by a lad from Talysarn who at first made out that he was a victim and had been trapped in the building.
