Warminster was my first posting and I remember Sam Cornish taking me to the Bath Arms for a night out and introducing me to Winnie, she had a thing about new lads in the Battalion then but I made a swift sharp exit. Cant remember his name but i remember a new lad who was posted to 10 Platoon a few months later and he got "kidnapped by Winnie" he was quite smitten by her for a good few months. A lovely girl and I can also rremember Big Sue and "Kim the Skin" as well from the Bath Arms.

Skipper Wood and Clutterbuck could tell a few stories about Winnie, if my memory serves me right.

Dave Criddle was the boy Winnie was interested in, she used to even come to the guard room and ask for him - she kidnapped him for a whole weekend once, she used to pay to get him drunk in the King Arthur and send him in a taxi to her place (for corrective training)

No Mike it wasnt him, I can see his face and will look out my old company photos, he was a tall lad. I also knew she had a thing with Martin Criddle, I was led to believe by an ex girlfriend in Market Drayton that Martn was rather well built in the nethe region which would explain why winnie had a thing for him

This thread has made me smile more often than I have for a long time.
Chow when you get a 70s reunion sorted we'll have to invite Winnie and co.
I remember the first Wednesday of every block leave meeting up with all the South wales members of the Bn. in the Market bar in Pontypridd (Market day) pubs were open all day in them days as well.
