View Full Version : Blue Birds Blue Birds
Well this is mainly for Scouse 75 as he will obviously be on his way back from Anfield feeling a bit under the weather at the moment. Well you might have beat us in the other micky mouse cup scouse, but you certainly wont be beating us in the FA Cup this year. Come on City.

Oh joy of joys!! What a difference 4 days make. I seem to recall that this thread was begun by none other than Sox. oh how he enjoyed his little text to me on Saturday on my way back from Anfield after our Fa cup exit. I can confirm that I received no such message from sox this evening as I returned home after we had beaten Inter Milan 2-0. I dont suggest for one minute that its anything to do with the fact that the 'Mighty Bluebirds', just got turned over by Newport!! Well done Newport, You've made my week!!
Sox...."You Reap what you sew mate!!"
Premature celebrations is the penalty you pay!
Well done NEWPORT !!!! As all the "Newport" Burns rejoice :biglaugh:
At least the Swans have got a second leg to play and our away form is better
Hi all.
Not being a supporter of any football team I still find this thread good fun, and I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a football supporters club like the drums/sigs etc. as long as it is only used as good harmless banter between members. any thoughts on it ?
Scouse75
20-02-2008, 15:09
Guvs,
Great idea mate. Nothing like footy for a bit of sarcastic banter.
dutchman
20-02-2008, 16:46
only thing is the bluetit supporters , do they know anything about football ?
Dutch, all i know is u got 2 put a spherical object in opponents net & the City didn`t ! Great result 4 Liverpool though - kept Rafa in his job, (well 4 another wk at least). Good idea Guvs re this thread.
tony jones
20-02-2008, 20:09

Dutch considering your side was filled with ex bluebirds, we do know a bit about football otherwise you would still be with-out a club in your fair city?? Think its a great idea to have a bit of banter, oh by the way they have just released a new stamp with the history of the jacks, dont know why because it seems to be blank on both sides?:biglaugh:

To old, thats good coming from a jack, when was the last time you lot were any good, Im sure you had a load of ex oldies from Liverpool in your side, and it showed because you had one glory season then ended up back in the old 4th division, 1927, 1927, 1927 need I say any more.

Hey Benny i agree good come back there mate had me stuck for words for a minute,i hope the BLUE TURDS dont get to down hearted when you go out in the next round, but from the strat of the season our priorities was to get promotion and we are nearly there lets hope we dont do a Cardiff city and bottle it like you lot have done the last few seasons
Scouse75
21-02-2008, 15:31
Oh it is getting feisty...Excellent!! I dont want to break up the Swansea/Cardiff ongoing battle, but the bluebirds fans may be interested in a Cardiff City FC DVD I saw in WH Smiths today...."101 Great Throw ins!!"
Oh it is getting feisty...Excellent!!
Yes its very sad......Im only commenting because I want to get my "Outrageous" tag line into the thread. Plus if their doing each over, i'm not getting it.......in the words of Cpl Danny Sheen........Crack On

bennyball2
22-02-2008, 08:58
Hi Scouse, you could be right there about throwins, Cardiff have had two very good players who could throw the ball the length of the pitch, Andy Legg and Bobby Woodruf, they made many a goal wjth their throws into the box. There is a DVD on sale down here on how not to support your local side but be a glory hunter?
tony jones
22-02-2008, 13:47
Andy Legg ex JACK of course :arghh:
Scouse75
22-02-2008, 13:51
Nice try Benny, but Im not rising to that one mate. Couple of things in my defence....
1. I have family from Liverpool.
2. I started supporting them when they got beat by Man Utd in the '77Cup Final, so hardly glory hunting.
3. It takes me 40 mins to get to Anfield. The only closer teams are Wrexham and Tranmere.Im hardly a Man Utd fan from Surrey!!!
4.Oh, and I go to every game and travel all over Europe watching them mate.
5. If you think its glory hunting, you obviously havent seen us in the league over the last 17 years!!
Oh ok, I did rise to it!!!

Havent Llangollen got a team, it broke my heart when Charlie George hit the winner against Liverpool, always had a soft spot for Liverpool ask Bri Taylor, used to go and watch them when in Tern Hill, but Cardiff will always be my first team. If their home on the Commrades weekend maybe you could get me a ticket. I may give you my hospitality ticket still complete with the menu and match day itinaray for the Liverpool - Arsenal Cup final in the millenium Stadium, the first to be held outside England. Still remeber chucking the waiter over my head when Owen scored. What a day. Still dident beat the play off between Cardiff and QPR though.

22-02-2008, 15:22

Like scouse ive supported Liverpool all my life and we go together every week. Scouse arent you so glad we dont have to worry about the Johnstones Paint Trophy??
You dont have to worry about the FA cup either Bri,the league is more important than the JPT and being 14 points clear is good for moral

Your spot on Trav as the Great Bill Shankly said the League is your bread and butter mate. I was brought up watching the Great Liverpool sides win many League titles and dont forget a lot of those legends played for the Swans after Liverpool and got you to the
1st div.
Im sure all you Jacks are buzzing at the thought of promotion and playing Cardiff next season eh.
Scouse75
23-02-2008, 11:57
Bri, they wont be buzzing as much as the South wales old bill. Rubbing their hands for all the overtime when the two teams meet. Thats a hell of a derby that one..probably more hatred than the Wrexham v Chester one!!
bennyball2
23-02-2008, 12:06
Scouse and Bri you can be my guests for that game if the Jacks get promoted, a good day will be had by all. Saying that though who's to say we wont be up there playing you next season. Maybe you will see the Jacks smashing the seats up and throwing them at the families Section again. By the way all the Jacks if you are going to try smash one of our pubs up, make sure we have a home game. Think your boys had a bit of a shock that night.
tony jones
23-02-2008, 12:08
Remember going to watch the Jacks play in the top flight back in the 80`s and seeing the liverpool legends that played for the swans although we only spent a couple of seasons there and at one point sat at the top of the table all i can say is at least the swans got to the top division unlike the BLUE TURD BOTTLERS :biglaugh:
Sorry 2 put the cat in amongst etc, etc. Quote from that fine upstanding (drug taking) Engish rugby forward Mr. L. Dallalgio - `The Prem Lge should be called the Andrex Lge, soft, over priced, & goes on too long` I agree with overpriced, 4 what they do/don`t do on the pitch. Any other job if ur not performing u get a pay cut & don`t get me started on when they`re injured, sick pay i think not ! Rant over, please discuss.
bennyball2
23-02-2008, 13:41
Sorry to put you right yet again Tony. 1924 Cardiff finished joint top of the old 1st division with Huddersfield they won it by 0.5 of a goal??????? Also we lost in the FA cup final to Sheffield Utd. If we had a bit of luck we would have been the first side to do the double. :biglaugh:

24-02-2008, 12:55

26-02-2008, 20:45
Just so others can see why we have such a rivalry, imagine Liverpool doing this or ay other team for that matter. Comments Jacks will be welcome:
In April 2006 relationships between Cardiff City supporters and Swansea City supporters were not helped after Swansea won the Football League Trophy final against Carlisle United 2-1 in the Millennium Stadium Cardiff. During their celebrations, Lee Trundle and Alan Tate brandished a Welsh flag with an anti-Cardiff obscenity written on it in huge black writing. As well as carrying the flag, Bundle was also seen wearing a T-shirt with an image of a Swansea City player urinating on a Cardiff City shirt.[4] The Football Association of Wales (FAW) said the images paraded at the match, which took place at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on 2 April, were "of an extremely offensive and insulting nature and such behaviour is totally unacceptable". After committing these deeds the two players in question were arrested by the Police on suspicion of section four public order offences, fined £2,000, and handed one match suspensions
Scouse75
27-02-2008, 00:23
I remember that Benny. I remember Trundle coming to the nick when he was at Wrexham, with his driving documents. He really is as thick as a whale omelette!! Gotta say though, he's got a decent touch, and has scored some nice goals.
In fairness, I think the bad blood has been going on a lot longer than that. Just Like Wrexham/Chester and Liverpool/Man ure. When it comes down to it I think we are all as bad as each other when it comes to rivalry with your biggest rivals.
I for one cannot stand Gary Neville, in fact I found it difficult to write his name then!! I was at Old Trafford(castle Greyskull) a couple of seasons ago when Man ure scored a last minute winner(as usual), after getting played off the park all match. I could handle the defeat..Just. What I couldnt handle was the weasle faced Neville racing the full length of the pitch to taunt the Liverpool fans. I know he hates Scousers and our team and Ive got no problem with that, thats his choice. But this was their Captain and the self proclaimed mouthpiece of all that needs to be said in football. At the end of the day, although Liverpool have massively underacheived in the League in the last 18yrs, it still riles United that we still hold the record for Laegue titles(call it what you like) and European cups. And I think what keeps our rivalry so strong is that after all their dominance they are still behind us. Dont get me wrong here, I have not got blinkers on and can honestly admit..as much as I hate United and some of their fans, themselves and Arsenal have been a class apart over the last decade. (Apart from not having 5 European cups between them of course!!)
When all is said and done, as long as there is no step backwards to the violence of the 70's/80's, would you ever want the rivalry to change between the teams you love to hate?
NO THANKS...its what makes it all worthwhile!!!
(Apologies to the Diehard Rugby fans we all know it should be like Rugby etc, but this is a topic reagrding football rivalry after all.)
ref: the flag throwing it is rumoured/reported that it was thrown onto the pitch from the press/media area of the stadium by a Ca cough/splutter based newspaper reporter out for a story and he got it at the Swans expence w@%&*$ the tee shirt incident you can buy them in any part of the country showing your team urinating on any other team you like and why didnt plod stop people openly selling them in the streets around the stadium
bennyball2
28-02-2008, 17:05
Totally agree with you Scouse, I hate the Mancs as well, but have a mate who I have a lot of banter with and yes he cant stand the fact its still 5 - 2 to Liverpool, and like you said does it matter if it was the old first division or the prem, Liverpool stil rule.
Trav you will have all the street traders from CARDIFF looking for you after those comments. pretty mean bunch, hope to see you on the bus going to wrexham, I have a soul crew badge for you, wear it with pride when you go to see the jacks next season??
Scouse75
29-02-2008, 06:24
How great is this boys? Cardiff still in the cup, Swansea almost guaranteed promotion and Liverpool looking good in Milan! I can see this thread going the distance, safe bet is though, the Jacks will probably be the last laughing!! Mind you, the Cardiff boys will go for it, and I quite fany going to my 3rd European cup final in 5 years....Who knows!!!
Will be there on the bus ,nothing like a bit of friendly banter, if i remember correctly you wouldnt accept my Swans pin badge, ill have your soul crew badge i have a lot of scrap metal to get rid of(it wouldnt get much on its own)

Hello All
Poor old Cardiff only a point, an own goal and getting knocked out of the FA cup (whoops predicting the future again)!
Just checked out why your crew is called 'soul crew'. in the definition soul
Soul music is a music genre that combines rhythm and blues and gospel music, originating in the United States.
So Blues not just meaning blue t**ds but always having a bad day! (except for 192? something).:swoon:
And gospel I suspect asking God for help aswell.:frown:
Well, I can help with the second one God is Manager of the swans, so he can't help you and for the blue well you can keep that colour I'll stick with Black and white with a bit of green and yellow sometimes.:winker:
Hope this helps all fans understand the blue t**ds, but also for benny to get out the black and white scarf and support a real team. Your season ticket awaits you down here in the Liberty.:chatterbox: Jack Army!
From Bri
P.S. come on Wrexham fight on if we could do it so can you

06-03-2008, 13:21
Ok bri,
A jack, a lifting device, you need something like that to get you in the prem as thats the only way you lot will ever get there. Jack a small flag flown on a ships bow, good discription as you have always been that small city/football team behind us. Jack Knave, as we are the kings of welsh football another good discription of a jack as again you will always come beneath us.
Lets look at blue again, the colour of the sky, of course thats where god lives and of course being bluebirds we will always be above you and being a bird you jacks better look out from above, because there only two things that come from the sky, and we aint going to drop paras on you.
tony jones
06-03-2008, 15:39

hey guys interesting thread with borderline banter all ok, being a pontypool born north walien living abroad I am more than pleased for all Welsh clubs who play in england and when they win it still makes me proud to be Welsh. After a fantastic day rugby y´day in Ireland why not put your voices behind Cardiff t´day cause if they do manage to reach the final again after 81 years all Welshmen will be one voice then. Winning is´nt everything being WELSH is far more important. I´m off to the GB club to watch the game on telly now with only english beer there its a small sacrifice Im prepared for. It could still be a super year for wales. Triple crown Cardiff FA cup Swansea promotion and good old Wrexham avoidind relegation Cymru am Bydd.
well thats blown all you swans out the water 2-0 away come on city , nice thread rob but dont think you will get the jacks shouting for city some how should we reach the final, great weekend for welsh sport shame about enzo though. come on jacks where are u crying in ya beers are we. blue birds blue birds
Well Done (god that was hard to say or print!!!!!) Would of been a nice match if Middie Boro turned up ha ha. Some good younsters playing for the Blue T**ds. Enough of this!!!!!

Just for you jacks?
Championship side Cardiff City have dumped Middlesbrough out of the FA Cup and now travel to Wembley for the first time since 1927.
The rainbow over the Riverside was the only ray of light for a below-par Boro as they fell to an embarrassing defeat at the hands of the Bluebirds.
Former Aston Villa man Peter Whittingham stunned the Teessiders when his quick feet opened up a tight gap which allowed him to unleash a superb curling effort into the top corner after just nine minutes. (Yeeeeeeees)
The goalscorer then turned provider when his free-kick was clinically met by Roger Johnson. His diving header sent the ball back across goal evading Mark Schwarzer's outstretched right arm for 2-0. (Yeeeeeeees)
Dave Jones' men fully deserved their place at Wembley with impressive performances from 17-year-old Aaron Ramsey and former Boro boy Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink leading from the front. (Tony not bad for a old man)Cardiff's triumph 81 years ago is the only occasion on which either club has won the trophy with Boro's best effort coming in 1997, when they were runners-up to Chelsea (when did the jacks do this????)

Typical BLUETURDS they all come out of the woodwork when you have a first win in 5 lets see if you can stay in the championship but there again the distraction of the cup could be your downfall also lets not sing too loud as your court case is just around the corner:laugh:
Me I am like Spain during the War not with anyone in particular well Rhyl but first round europe is our best there
I understand the rivalry as watching the game I noticed a Cardiff Welsh Flag the Dragon had a crocked Swan in its mouth!
But Good Win and they could do Barnsley that would be something taking the game away from Cardiff but then Cardiff going and bringing the FA Cup back to Cardiff that would be something aye

Bri if u go back to the first thread i started on here it was geared at scouse mate as a bit of banter that he had given me when cardiff lost to liverpool. Im a rugby man my self but have always surported the blue birds being cardiff born and cardiff bred and dont proffess to follow any of the big clubs. I am not a week in week out football fan but do follow the results, as for the english cup then why do swansea bother entering, spose we will have to appeal against the welsh FA if we do win to play in europe next season. Reason 1 for hating the jacks when i was a young lad and ventured up to the vetch after beating the swans 2-0 we observed a pillar of smoke coming from the car park yes u jack ........... had set our coach on fire we had to hang around for 3 hours lol.

What I don't understand is now, is if Cardiff win the FA Cup they will not be able to represent the Football league in the UEFA cup next season. Do Cardiff, Swansea, & Wrexham not play in the English League.
If this is down to the Welsh FA again they are penalising the likes of our welsh teams for playing in the English Tier of Football.
The Money is not in this Semi proffesional league they have here in Wales, its not like the Scottish SPL which as been going for sometime now. If the likes of Cardiff, Swansea, and Wrexham cant qualify for europe then let them once again play in the Welsh Cup, so they can qualify again and receive some financial reward once more which is required to all our English leaugue representatives.
If this is not going to be the case then (and this is going to hurt) lets hope Cardiff win the FA Cup and put egg on the face of the FAW.

Hello Sox
Respect must go to you for two reasons
1 For starting this excellent thread. I reckon we have all have kept it on the same lines as you started it off, Your home team, The ENGLISH mickey mouse cup and Liverpool (whoops I haven't mentioned them. Scouse, Bri or Rafa (how ever is incharge up there) thanks for loaning us Paul Anderson and Martenez says hello to Rafa Benitez. :winker:
2 For pointing out these electrical faults with these coaches from (your end) I'm sure there are some Health and Safety members on this forum that can pursue this issue and make our roads safe:biggrin: If your insinuating that it could be MALICIOUS well, a blast incendrie or Molotov cocktail would need a safety distance of 180 metres and we couldn't achieve that at the vetch (useful being a pioneer). However at the Liberty we can:devilish:
Respect to all other members contributing to this aswell especially Tony, Trav, Rik, Carl, Scouse and O yes and Benny (from?):winker:
Welsh cup final tonight good luck to both teams
Well done to Wrexham, good win. More of the same please :spinny:

11/03/2008 - Boss davey banking on Swans fans to cheer Barnsley to victory
Former Swansea City midfielder Simon Davey is hoping hometown support can smash Cardiff City's FA Cup Final dream.
The Barnsley boss saw his side drawn out alongside the Bluebirds in yesterday's semi-final draw, and Davey admits it would be sweet to dump Swansea's fierce rivals out of the cup.
Just one victory separates the Championship pair from a dream trip to Wembley, with either West Bromich Albion or Portsmouth waiting in the wings.
And the Swansea-born manager, who played 49 games at Vetch Field over a five-year stretch, says Barnsley's trip to the English capital could not be better than beating Cardiff along the way.
"They're a good side," he said. "We played them at home this year and drew 1-1. They play very good football and we know it's going to be a tough game.
"But we've got to be confident after beating Liverpool and Chelsea. There's light at the end of the tunnel for both teams and we fancy our chances. We're 90 minutes away from an FA Cup Final.
"They're Swansea's biggest rivals and being a Swansea lad it'll always be nice to put Cardiff out. I'm sure there'll be a lot of Swansea fans cheering me on."
COME ON BBAAAARRRRNNNSSSSLLLEEEYYYYY:biglaugh:
Hi all.
I must say I'm glad to see that this thread is still going strong after 12 pages!! I dint think I've seen one going so long ? and It's even more surprising that no one has killed each other yet , well done all.
Like I said way back on the 3rd. page, there should be a football supporters club site on the forum,
I think the fact that there are 12 pages to this thread has said that there is a call for it , and you have proved that you can keep it to typical army type banter and not abuse each other, (comes close sometimes) so what do you think? you could start off threads about different things rather than having one long one,
If Bob or Al are keeping an eye on this thread whats your thoughts?

Hello Scouse
Yes your defiantly right on the standard of this lad just a couple of stats to show:-
out of 29 outings his had 9 goals and 11 assists. :winker:
With position yes we play him on both right and left wing.
Write up on one of our sites:-
Paul is extremely fast, and capable of playing on either wing and with his eye for goal is capable of playing as a striker.

Bring Anderson back we could do with a winger LOL! Nice to see a BIG club loaning out a decent player who helps out the other team and gains valuable experience. Anderson is definately one to watch for the future and nice to hear he is playing well and getting good reviews. Well done to Cardiff hope you can go all the way and bring the Cup back to Wales. Especially for you BENNY!!

Cheers Big Bri, great to see him doing well. Benitez rarely brings loaned players back, so you may well get him permanantly. If not, at least he's getting competitive games every week, which is what its all about. It will be a shame if we let him go. We are just not producing enough from our youth academy over recent years. Well, I say recent, the last player to make it through the youth system permanantly was Steven Gerard. Warnock came through, but got sold. Heighway got replaced this year because we simply are'nt producing enough home grown players. Saying that, Benitez rarely plays them anyway! I would much rather a home grown player givingg you 100% than a mediocre foreign player bought for a couple of million. Unfortunately, thats the way it seems to be these days. Mind you, I cant fault Benitez at the moment, he may just allow me to attend my 3rd European Cup final in four years. Im not counting my chickens yet though, its gonna be tough getting there again.
Isnt the Barnsley manager a Jack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Isnt the Barnsley manager a Jack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello Rolli
A quote shows how he started in football and where is heart is:-
In 1987, Davey was a teenager preparing for O-levels in school in his home town of Swansea when the head teacher came into the classroom and said, 'Terry Yorath has just called. He is asking if Simon can be excused and pop down to the Vetch'. Davey went straight down to Swansea City’s ground, Vetch Field, in school uniform. Yorath informed him that he was short of players and would like to name him as a substitute for Saturday’s game against Torquay United. Davey made his debut during the second half of that game and went on to make 58 appearances, scoring 5 goals in 4 years, as a midfielder with the Swans.

"The incident took place in the tunnel following the game. The arrested man was released on police bail, pending further enquiries.

Hello All
Great to see the jacks get back on track as some would say:cute: the jack train needs no track and will motor through this div to reintroduce what we've all been waiting for, the good old Derby's (not this Bristol Derby thing :arghh:) the real DERBY with the Blue T**ds and to beat them both home and away (which has not been done by either side in history).
There also is another issue in the media at the moment and that is the Leighton James
WELSH soccer legend Leighton James has kicked up a potential storm by stating he wants Barnsley to beat Cardiff City in the FA Cup.
The TV pundit made his remarks in his column for a local newspaper.
Although James was writing for an audience of Swans’ fans, such comments from a high-profile football character are hardly likely to endear him to other soccer followers.
James, left, argued that if Roberto Martinez’s side were in the last four, Cardiff supporters would want the Swans to lose.
“It's a difficult one to choose,” wrote James. “On one hand, as a proud Welshman, you want the clubs from your country to go as far as they can"
“On the other hand, as a Swansea person, you want Tykes boss Simon Davey – who is a Swansea person – to do well too.
“We always want to see our hometown products doing well, and I’m sure the people of Swansea will want him to reach the final.
“To see Cardiff in the final would be hard to take for Swansea fans.
“So, to be brutally honest, I think I’m behind Barnsley on this one.”
situation with supporting Barnsley. There's no problem with that is there! Look at the choice Barnsley or Blue T**ds Say no more:biglaugh:

after watching this excellent thread for so long I as a proud North Walien come to the obvious observation that the Swans are simply jealous of a better team . The league ( irrespective of it´s standing ) is important BUT the FA cup is and will always be the battleground of divisions and although the WELCH have had little to celebrate over the past in English football history one thing cannot be taken away from us ! ALL Welch teams do thier best for thier teams and for thier Country WALES .l With Gods backing and good fortune ( and luck ) A WELCH team could again play in an English FA final and proove beyond doubt the Welch are good enough not only of playing World class Rugby but also Football . The swans have a team ready to pulverise anybody in the league above but Cardiff with the backing of every true born Welchman can achieve the ultimate quest to win the greatest prize in English football WE ARE A MINORITY but united together WE ARE WALES CYMRU AM BYDD There is no need whatsoever to be jealous or

Here's another example of the Blue T**ds learning from the JACKS:-

You deserve it Dutch, what makes me mad is this comment from the Walabout pub in Cardiff, again football fans stuffed
"A spokesman for Walkabout pub on St Mary Street, Cardiff, said: “Like many of the other large bars in the City centre and in line with licensing agreements we cannot show Cardiff City’s televised matches.
“However, the Toulouse v Cardiff Blues Heineken Cup match will be on live in the venue.
We are not evan talking about awayfans being there and they still stuff us football fans.
Would this happen in Swansea or Liverpool?
Comments please.
Same problem in Swansea with Walkabout and a Swans game it must be a chain pub thing i think this goes back to a previous thread High Jinks / Performing = rugby / football fans
Dutch
Are you aware of this appointment?
From an official Newport County email circular.....
The club is pleased to announce that former welsh soccer legend and BBC TV pundit Leighton James has joined the club as chief executive.
Mr James who coached county back in the eighties and brings a wealth of experience to the club. Mr James is well respected in welsh football circles for his charisma and charm.
Everyone at Newport County would like to welcome Leighton to club.
What a legend, and he supports Barnsley.
Benny reference the 60,000 as an attendance you must be right as even with hammer fans you wouldn't be able to achieve that figure.

THIS SUMS UP CARDIFF CITY TO A TEE,HOPE YOU`RE PROUD OF YOUR FANS BENNY:no:GIVING THE WELSH A BAD NAME:no:
I just thought that I would share my horrific experiences of Sunday 6th April, 2008 – a day that I wont forget in a long while. It being FA Cup semi final day for championship teams Barnsley FC and Cardiff City. I’m originally from Hull, but I’ve been in the smoke for 20 years now, I’ve got a soft spot for the Tigers, but am a firm Arsenal supporter and an ardent England follower of 40 years, I am also a regular in the Globe at Baker Street, so I thought I’d pop my head in and see what was going on in terms of pre-match atmosphere…..what a mistake. The pub and the streets around were chocker with the worst level of thugs that I have ever come across in my entire life, all of whom were Cardiff ‘fans’. Now I know every club has it’s 2% of trouble making scrotes and Stone Island wearing granddads who should really know better, but this was something like I’ve never seen before.
Supposed Cardiff ‘fans’ none of whom have probably been to more than one game this season were on a free for all to degrade and disgust as much as they could about England. Chants included ‘England is full of ****’ and ‘English C*nt’ aimed in my direction because I had my Arsenal woolly hat on. I took one step in the Globe to see one idiot actually urinating on the floor to the delight of his mates who cheered him on to ‘piss on the English ****e’. This wasn’t the infamous Soul Crew this was blue shirt wearing ‘fans’. I was gobsmacked and took a step back, as I did a bottle hit the back of a Cardiff fan next to me, I presume it was aimed at me.
He went steaming into the pub, and I left sharpish. As I walked away nothing but vile racist anti-English abuse was thrown in my direction. I was horrified, the Globe is a legendary England Pub and to see it treated in this way really cut me up. I’ve been to Cardiff on numerous occasions, to the millennium stadium to watch both football and rugby and I would never dream of treating, Wales, the Welsh or Cardiff in this way. I’ve seen trouble at games before, but the disgraceful behaviour witnessed here was something else.
On my way back I past a pub with some Barnsley fans in, I was going to have a pint with them, but then about 15 Cardiff including a very fat family with woman and kids walked towards the pub and started shouting foul mouthed anti English abuse at the Barnsley fans inside. When the doormen wouldn’t let them in, the fat woman who looked a bit like the fat scouse bird off of Shameless, squatted down, removed a tampon from her bits and threw it at the pub window, where it stuck like a limpet. This was in front of her kids, and is an image that turned my stomach and will live with me forever. A club like Cardiff who are a fair sized championship Club should not have this kind of ‘fan’ in the 21st century.
Having been back at work two days and sharing stories with friends and colleagues from across London and beyond I found that similarly disgusting incidents had happened elsewhere, one of my colleagues witnessed a Cardiff shirt wearing bloke in his 50s spit on a Barnsley shirt wearing child outside Euston Station! In Brentford, Ealing, Alperton and Camden Cardiff kicked off not just with Barnsley fans but with anyone who wasn’t Welsh, even in Reading on the way home they were causing trouble instead of celebrating. I want to share these terrible experiences with every club in the land – Cardiff city do not deserve a place in the FA Cup final on the strength of their fans behaviour, nor in the English Football league. I’m no Portsmouth fan and I know they have a good sized idiot following but I hope they stuff Cardiff in the final. This isn’t Portsmouth V Cardiff anymore, or Premier League V Championship…this is England V Wales. I’m proud of my country (and of The Globe my pub). I sincerely hope for the final it is full of genuine Portsmouth fans who I will be happy to share banter with rather than inebriated Welsh racist trouble makers with an agenda of hatred against anything English. COME ON ENGLAND.

Well Well Tony just been looking for where this trash originated from, you woud think maybe the Hull City web site or maybe the Arsenal FC web site, but no guess what it comes from Bristol City FC Mad . com . I thought it a bit funny that this bloke seemed to be in a lot of places at one time, i have a quote from the web site of the pub that this bloke went to looks like a lovely place, if all you can do is come up with **** like this because you are Jealous of our fame we are not biting, oh and by the way check the date of the post below it wasent Cardiff fans::mad:
I have to say this is one of the worst pubs I've been into. Firstly, it had that awful stale beer smell which I'm sure regular cleaning would get rid of. Secondly, I expected it to be busy of course because of it's location but we were there to watch a game of rugby and no less than 3 fights were broken up by staff in the space of the game at least one looked pretty serious. Been to loads of rugby games and more than my share of pubs and never seen anything like it. One guy was trashed (he seemed to be "minesweeping" which I thought died out years ago) and making a nuisance of himself which to be fair the staff dealt with as best they could but I coudln't shake the dodgy feeling in this place.
Drunk, loud and singing I can totally accept (I may have even been guilty of this myself in the past)... wasted, obnoxious and screaming like a fool I can't. Maybe I picked a bad night but I wouldn't go back. The staff dealt with the situations well but there seemed to be a degree of familiarity with that type of situation which makes me think it always happens here.

Enough of that sympathy stuff:cry:, between Jacks and Blue T**ds. You'll give us welsh teams a good name.:twitcy:
For the Jacks out there who could not get a ticket for the Gills game on Saturday, the Liberty (home of Welsh sport) will be doing the live link and screening the match. Details cost £5 for kids £10 for adults. Doors open 1400hrs kick off 1500. Unlike Carlisle refusing the live link Gills have Ok’d it.
Hope Carlisle don’t go up, nothing against them, but that was one long-long journey:radar: left 1030hrs returned 0500hrs. But it was a well earned point.
