My Grandfather was a WW1 vet whom I had never met. Im trying to trace him and we recently found out he served in the RDA. Any ideas what this was.

Where did you get the details relating to the RDA from Dai?

My grandads a real mystery. My mum has vague memories of him. The details of the RDA came from a mason, my grandad was apparently a mason. He was in a lodge in malta in 1924-26 and was a corporal. He was gassed in the war and played for his regiment in football. We know his name (George William Berry) and we thought he was Artillery. And thats all we know. Any ideas?

Do you know where he was originally from, so that I can check the available records. The RDA bit might be a red herring. If you have his birth date, that would also be useful
