Regimental Colours

A question that has been bugging me for years is. I escorted the Regimental Colours when the battalion had the freedom of Lemgo in Germany. I was only a Fusilier when tasked to escort the colours so it was a very proud moment for me.
Now are there records kept of soldiers who have escorted the colours, the reason I am enquiring is that I can’t recall another Fusilier escorting the Colours before, I am more than likely wrong but is the information available?

Benny I know that Evo Evans 25 from Flint did escort the coulour as a Fusilier whilst making a recruitment pack in Ballykinmer and at the time we were told that the correct breakdown for a Colour Party was an 2 times Subs, CSgt, Cpl and a Fusilier, Gwyn was the CSgt and I the Cpl at the time.

later I had the honour again in Berlin to carry the colour as a Sgt, proud moment for me and Snoze and HQ Coy as it was our first time ever as a Company in our time normaly it befell the rifle companys.

Question? What were the circumstances of you being chosen as a Fusilier to escort the Colours on a Freedom Parade?

Secondly, you can say that Fusiliers (drummers) escort and gaurd the Colours on the WO's and Sgts Mess St David Day Ball Every St David's Day or as near.

It was all down to size, I think but I was never told that. The standard bearer was Lt Brown, who was taller than most other officers and the other escort was a Cpl, cant think of his name, have to have a look at the photo, we were all over 6ft, maybe thats why they dident pick you Bruv?????
