Hi all

During my research I have found a member of the RWF who received the MSM of whom I was unaware.

Can anyone shed any light on the recipient for my records ?

I may be way out of line here, but this couldn't be BSM 'Jock' Lawson, could it? The coincidence would be too much to bear on my current medication!

Hello Richard,
There is a photo of "Jock" Lawson on my web site. It is the first picture on the list headed Saint Davids day dinner. He is in front of the goat Major Jack Shone.
Regards RBD.

Hello Richard,
Jock Lawson is probabnly on the Sjts mess photo on my site taken in Ogbourne Saint George before the 1st 2nd and 4th battalions were presented with new colours by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the second. The picture of "Jock" is on the menu under Second Battalion 1954 to 1957. Jock is about to hand the drinking cup to Sjt "Timber" Woods. I am at the left of the picture by the Tannoy speaker.
Regards RBD

Jock's obituary was published in the 1998 Edition of the Ddraig Y Goch. A photo of Jock and the Article can be read here (http://www.rwf-forum.co.uk/vBulletin/vbarticles.php?do=article&articleid=20)

Having served with Jock as he came to the end of his army career I for one cannot remember him wearing the MSM on his uniform. However, Richard, the band reunion is this Friday 5th Set 2008 and there are a number of guys coming who served during the "duration of emergency" and have some interesting information about members of the Bandas of the various battalions RWF receiving galantry awards including one I am told who was awarded the Guarde de Gure for services to the French Forces at Dunkirk so I'm told. Will pass on info next week.

p.s. I'm not sure of the spelling of the French medal
