View Full Version : membership!!!
Well i donk know about the rest of the membership..but Me personaly,,there have been over a hundred new members in the last few weeks and .I think that is abs/brill..but over 50% of them are just first names only..no profile at all..great that we get new memberes..but who are they???? did they know rwf people?are they members of rwf peoples family?..are they just looking?are they ex rwf? so come on some of us are looking for old mates and to have to go through over 1577 members names every time we get a new member it is a pain..so a little bit of profile PLEASE..thoughts????PLEASE ...
hi Chow yes m8 do agree in some respects, but for instance characters and friends served with, I would need a Lever arch file to fill that out, ive met so many good friends over a 24 year career it would be simply impossible to fill out on the space provided. Some I know nothing of there where abouts as lost touch, others i see regular, others i e mail regular and some have died, Im still in touch with guys that only did 3 years back in the 80's that are not members on here.
Some people know that the internet can back fire on you, you all know what i mean, there for some people will be sceptical about putting photos on profiles or giving to much info,
May be there cud be some sort of buddy list that people can put there own photos behind the profile, and you have to request to the individual to see them.
hey sox thanks for that..i am not asking for a life story..lol.just a few basics..so people know if new members are /were rwf/just looking ect..about photos well thats up to the member of course...but just a name..??

May be there could be some sort of buddy list that people can put there own photos behind the profile, and you have to request to the individual to see them.
There is already a buddy list available. The buddy list is used to keep track of the friends you have made on this forum. By going to your "Open Buddy List" in "Quick Links" menu of the navbar, you'll be able to see which of your friends are currently online and send them a private message. Adding people to your buddy list also allows you to send private messages to multiple forum members at the same time. You may add any member of the forums to your buddy list by viewing their profile or by going to "Buddy/Ignore Lists" in your "User CP".
This in itself won't stop other members viewing your profile or photos. However, I have added a module that adds a "Profile Privacy" option for users, allowing them to select one of three options. "Public" enables anyone at all to view your profile, "Private" limits your profile to only being viewed by forum members, and "Friends Only" limits your profile to people on your buddy or friends list.
This "Profile Privacy" option can be accessed from your User CP (top menu bar), Edit Profile and scroll down to Profile Privacy and select one of the three options
e.g.
Profile Privacy<TABLE cellSpacing=3 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD>This option controls who can view your public profile on the forums.</TD></TR><TR><TD><INPUT id=profprivradio0 type=radio value=0 name=profileprivacy> <LABEL for=profprivradio0>Public (anyone can view)</LABEL>
<INPUT id=profprivradio1 type=radio value=1 name=profileprivacy> <LABEL for=profprivradio1>Private (registered members can view)</LABEL>
<INPUT id=profprivradio2 type=radio CHECKED value=2 name=profileprivacy> <LABEL for=profprivradio2>Friends Only</LABEL>
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Sorry, when I said photos I was referring to your profile photo, if you have one, and not the photo galleries. If you want a photo page then I would have to find a workaround for it.

Okay peeps, I have added a mod that allows users to upload GIF, JPG, and PNG images so that they appear on the member's profile page. Basically, it allows you to have a mini gallery displayed on your member's profile page.
So, following on from the previous post, if you make your Profile visible only to those on your Buddy List, no one else will be able to see the pictures you upload.
To upload pictures go to your User CP (top menu bar) and select Edit Profile Picture and look for the 'Add Profile Gallery Picture' block where you can upload an image for display on your member profile page.
After you upload an image, go to View Profile (http://www.rwf-forum.co.uk/vBulletin/member.php?u=1) to see the image(s)
Please be sensible about this facility, or it will be removed. Do not upload too many photos; that's what the photo Gallery is for.

Has anyone tried to use this facility yet? I have uploaded some random pictures to my own profile so that you can see what it will look like should you decided to create a mini gallery.
You can see them by clicking on my Username Bob Bacon (http://www.rwf-forum.co.uk/vBulletin/member.php?u=1)
