I just want to share a quick one with you all.
On Sunday, I will be laying a wreath in Llangollen for Bosnia and Northern Ireland. I will be joined by WO2 Jones 10 (Bean), who will be laying the wreath for the RWF(R.Welsh).
This week I have had to borrow Al Pooles medals, as I have been to lazy(sorry) to get mine court mounted. The only problem is that Al has a LSGC medal, where as I did not have one.(no suprises there!! I wasnt far off on Long service, but miles away on good conduct!)). I suggested that I would cover up the medal as I thought it was not apropriate to wear it.
Al Poole replied "Don't worry Scouse, no one will know".It has now come to my attention that Paul Gough, Al, and Sid 'Brother of larry' have planned to get me photographed on parade with the said medal, and expose me on the Forum as a fraudster!
I would like to openly tell you now, so that I ruin their little suprise! Sid really has become far too honest since his promotion!!!! Remember guys, my father is the mayor, Im sure he could have you put in the stocks or something!
Mark Harry is all over a regimental magazine with medals he did not have (though he was ordered 2). So don't worry Scouse, his picture is all over the place now! DO US PROUD as I am sure you will.
Paul
Only suggestion is make sure its a close up photo and put blue tack or black nd nast on the GC then every one will beleive you "long Service" ??? Well its worth a go anyway.
Josk
It shocked I am, shocked that they would even consider something so heinous and well...shocking!
Scouse, It's a damn shame bonfire night's been and gone.
Good luck on Sunday
Shar x
(can't you tell people it's one of them chocolate ones?)
All I can say Scouse to your Ambushers is "People in Glass Houses should not Throw Stones"
I mean how many stories are there out there, that some would wish to forget? Its not known the Long Service and never been caught medal for nothing!
You represent us well as I will try to do out hear in France.
Barry
PS Who's Mr Squeeky Clean Then?
It's a fair Cop(sic).
Nicely played hand of cards there Scouse. I admire your approach......a little honesty about the crime your about to commit, then a little remorse, backed up with a threat, to do our legs, via the Hughes Family Taffia. Classic Scouse tactics(yes I did hit him sir, and I'm sorry, but he did slag off the regiment).
I should have known that Larry's brother wouldn't be able to maintain OPSEC....He can't hold his own water.
Back to the drawing board.
Message to Larry's brother "Circle of Trust..either your in or your out?" Splitter

Cheers for the messages of support.
Classic Scouse tactics(yes I did hit him sir, and I'm sorry, but he did slag off the regiment).
Al, how true those words were!! Me and Bear used them that often in Berlin that Nick Ravenhill banned us from using that excuse for 6 months!! So we used to tell him they said the RWF rugby team was **** and that he couldnt sing 'RINGO' to save his life!! That saved us a few extras, until he cottoned on again.
As for Sid, who do you think suggested the works confidential telephone line "Grass on a mate!!"

Scouse my tailores does a great job of court mounting medals, as a gesture of support i will get her to do yours she only charges £5.00 per medal,

If I add Rugby medals, boxing and 50metre breast stroke, I should be ok!!
So if you send me "The Medal"and £5.00 i will get her on the case.
Scouse is too proud to ask................so I will. :spinny:
Can he have it on tick? £1 a month, starting in February(that lets him get over his xmas spends).
Thought you got the breast stroke medal in Canada Scouse?

Dave, Great time mate. 1,000 screaming Canadian women watching us strip. (bit slimmer then!) And all so we could have a free bar for the boys. That was definately taking one for the team.
I will never forget the Canadian lads, oiling themselves up and flexing up as a warm up to their dances. Where as we merely slouched against the bar ordering more Labatts ice!!

Al,
Not a chance of getting anything on Tick from Mike Donnelly, he was my CQMS. As he said........ stores are for storing!!
i never got the lsgc scouse but as horsehead hughes 10 said to me '' never av what you cant spell ''
cheers mate i think any person that got LS & GC on the chest missed the whole point of what the army was all abount , [ one big dick around and trying to beat the system, and avin a laugh doing it]
i can only say that some members on this forum who hold the medal will freely admit the only reason they got it was unlike me and probably scouse .
''they never got caught ''
thanks for the vote mate
all the best

WRONG!! We just never got caught.
I suspect that as you were marking time in the nick, having just completed another 23 press ups, and was looking forward to the battalion run as part of the "White Helmets Display Team", I can almost guarantee the following conversation did NOT take place
Prisoner Led - Do yer know what,
Prisoner Scouse - No Leddy? tell me.
Prisoner Led(now sweating profusely) -This what the army is all about , one big dick around and trying to beat the system, and avin a laugh doing it!!!!!!!!!!!
Power to the Peoples Popular Front of Judea.......or whatever it is
cant argue with that al but looking at scouse with that white helmet one was enough to keep anyone going lol lol
cheers al [maybe we need thread from all holders of the medal and things they got away with ]
cheers bigus

sounds like a good topic for a therad, I'm sure LSGC holders will not want to own up to any misdemeanours that they might of got up to, needless to say I was never going to get one, did the LS.:fireman:

Hey all LS & GC holders and Scouce and Led.
Well i got one and had loads of fun getting it. You should of asked Dusty Miller, he writes a mean letter, and I will always remember the CO's face when he pinned it on my chest and said he must of been on leave when the letter was wrote. Will be there wearing it proud tomorrow. Come on the White Helmet Display Team.
Pug
Yer Pug Happy Days I think it was why the Sigs Platoon where accommodated in block one in Lemgo to be closer for visiting.
I did an early stint in Tidworth, but very short just enough time to shine a few door handles and sort the empties ammo that is for HQ Coy CSM.
But not a patch on your Full membership!
One of my mates managed to snap a picture of Scouse Hughes 75 today at Llangollen. As well as my medals, he couldn't find his beret, so he borrowed one from "One of The Boys"
Seemingly Scouse never paid for one beer in Llan this afternoon, as he explained the intricacies of HALO parachuting. He will be publishing his book shortly, he just needs a title!!!
