Had a few beers tonight with Sid(brother of Larry Burns) and Paul Gough. Sid is a massive fan of UB40, however when i reminded him of a tragic period of the bands history, when one of the band members went to prison, he claimed it never happened, and even if it did, it wasn't a proper band member. So just for Sid(younger brother of Larry).

1988 . . UB40 bass player Earl Falconer was sent to prison for six months, with a further 12 suspended, after admitting to causing his brothers death in a car accident

We can not hold that against Sid its a family thing apparently back in 1980 something Larry Big Broth of Sid was a avid Madness fan So when you have a broth who spends most of his time in the house of fun wearing baggy trousers what do you expect?

UB 40 ain't that Bad!

Maybe, he found it so traumatic he wiped the emotional scar from his mind. Maybe now, after bringing it up and providing irrefutable evidence, you'll be responsible for the mental damage that's bound to develop. Maybe he'll go on the rampage...

Oooooer, he doesn't still have access to guns does he....Hide Al, Hide!!

He foolishly let it slip last night that being referred to as "Larry's Brother" is really winding him up. We shall have to see if he will take the bait...............Scouse is WATCHING:radar:

Al,

You must admit that Larry looks a lot younger than Sid, and always had more flair.

Last year, me and Sid (Larry's brother) travelled down to his mothers in his car. All the way down I was subjected to UB40 on the stereo. Then I ws treated to 'Goldi Lookin Chain'. It was slightly sad and rather uncomfortable watching a man in his mid 40's singing along to a Rap band in a sad attempt at holding on to his youth!! Mind you, they are the best thing to come out of Newport since Sids brother...Larry!!

Just like to stick up for Sid here.

Sid, I'd never refer to you as Larry's younger Brother.

You look much older than him:biggrin:

At last!!! I knew that the great man himself, Jason Gilman(yes, his actual middle name) Burns, would come out fighting!! I dont suppose the fact that I was speaking to Heidi in Wrexham today had anything to do with this Sid ?

In regards to Barry's comment of him being also known as Mrs Burns' little boy', I can confirm from personal experience...

As a big mate of Sid's nephew Vince Michna(still serving), I have had the pleasure to become an attached member of the extended Burns family. And on many an occassion, I have heard 'nanna Burns', as I have called her for almost 20yrs, refer to Sid as her 'Little boy'.

Bloody hell Jean, Little? He is 6'3 in his crombie jacket!! I would just like to say to Sid, joking aside, please don't tell Nanna Burns on me next time we are down in Pil, Newport!

I dont believe Sid is realy Larrys brother,
when Larry and myself spent the night in Wrexham last week i had to arrange for Maj Larry Burns to sleep in transit accommodation in Hightown barracks. Now I know Sid lives very close to the barracks in a great big house and cannot belive that if Larry did have a brother called Sid then that brother would surely put him up for the night or at least go for a pint with him or even phone him.

If Sid is Larrys brother i am glad i have sisters!!

In my defence, I could not get time off work for the funeral of the big man 80, I was the only Sgt working in the county of Flintshire. I did say to Larry when Paul Gough rang me pi**ed, for the 20th time Larry stay at mine, and the answer was “no thanks nipper me and Mick Donnelly are on the **** we’re off to get scoff and back to the barracks” I did take it as a personal insult but, I know he’s so much of a week link on the beer.
