Prior to my first operation on my knee I read an article in the paper about a woman who had an operation and caught MRSA in Hospital. On release, her daughter (following another article) gave her mother MANUKA honey every day and eventually the MRSA cleared. When she told the doctors they said the body can clear the virus itself and the Honey probably did nothing. Anyway, I tried it prior to the operation, taken in combination with an Echinacea drink before bed. I have taken it ever since. I dont know if it helped that woman or aided my immune system to prevent infection but I do know that since taking it, I dont get colds (apart from an odd sniffle that doesn't last) and if I get a cut or bruise I heal quickly. I also suffer less with indigestion . Manuka honey is imported from New Zealand and apparently has been used by the indiginous people for many years. It isn't cheap compared to other honey on the shelf but nothing any good comes cheap eh? Well it seems to work for me, so I thought I would pass it on before the cold and damp sets in.
