I am trying to obtain information about my paternal Grand father, a Sgt of the
4th Bn. RWF killed in 1944. According to the Commonwealth Wargrave entry his name was Patrick Murphy
(although I have also been told he was called Joseph).

Service number 3764554, he died 23/09/1944 and is buried in the Valkensward War Cemetery in the Netherlands.

Can you assist me or advise me how to proceed?

Bob,

John may have to do a little more research to pinpoint his relative, he may be looking at the wrong Murphy. Can you make him aware that there is also a 4192633 Fusilier Joseph P Murphy listed in "Red Dragon". He was killed on the 3/11/1942.

I suggest he logs on, and posts all the info he has, family tales etc.
