Thank you for accepting me into the forum, I must admit though that I am here mostly for my own benefit, sorry. I had purchased a 1943 m20 military motorcycle a few weeks ago and am searching for a little information about it. On the right side of the tank someone had stenciled on with paint and brush "JTR RHYL" which I already found means "Junior Tradesman Regiment". On the top of the tank "419A" was painted on freehand, also on the left side of the tank there is an insignia which consists of a black square with a four pedaled red flower in the middle, also has a yellow band around the flower. If anyone can comment on the latter two items I would be most appreciative. It will help me determine
whether I should leave the bike as it is or restore it, thank you very much, Stoney

Hi Stony,
I served with JTR Rhyl during 1970-1972, there was a driver training wing there and I have spoken to one of the civlilian instructors who was there the same time as I was and the instructors did not instruct on motor cycles.
We both think that JTR Rhyl started a hobby for the young recruits which was motor cycles, all the young lads had to participate in a hobby of some sort, as to the red flower emblem with a yellow surround may be something to do with Yorkshire.
Hope this is of help.
Regards,
Joe.
