Just spoke to Wally and he assures me that he's recovering slowly but surely and although it will be a slow process he hopes to be fully fit soon. He wants to thank everybody who has phoned and sent cards it was very much appreciated

I believe that Wally 15 was my SAA instructor in Crickhowell in 1967.Along with another RWF NCO Cpl Jones 99 ? a very small guy.We thought incorrectly they were brothers.Anyway if he is the same man all my section thought very highly of him. My skill at arms was of an excellant standard and it was all down to him.So if I have got the right guy please tell him he left a great impression on me . Please pass on my best wishes and a speedy recovery.And if I have got it wrong give him my best wishes anyway as he is clearly highly regarded by the Royal Welch.

Wally was pretty tall, but there again everyone is tall to me, I'm sure there has been a picture placed in the gallery lately with him on it ??

Wally 15. From the Asslt Pnr Pl at Strabane in the 70's album. There is also a pic of Ray 99's pictured with his wife and another couple in the 60's album, on a night out.

Thats him I thought I was right my memory is not too bad. Anyway as I said he was an outstanding SAA instructor and for all the size of him a very fair man.Mind you he did not take kindly if we let him down on the final TOETS, there was a lot of rivalry for the instructors to produce the best squad.Anyway I wish him all the best.

Ref Jones 99 would he be the guy on the left in 60's album page 3 titled Friends Minden ?

Wally was one of my first introductions to A Coy, Iserlohn, in 1963, along with Cpl Jones 10, Russell 14?, Nellie Lytton, Coppell and Sexy Owens.

Get well Wally, all the very best Marion from Gerry 43 and Vern (We were also neighbours in the "Four Stories" Minden with Mick Davies 15, Nick, John Wiseman and on the reservation, Ken Lawrence).
