Welcome to June issue of the RHQ Monthly Newsletter.
As always, it is packed with news from across the Regimental family, and we begin this edition with some fantastic achievements. A huge congratulations to Lt Col Alex Rabbitt on his MBE, WO2 Mark Ebdon on receiving the King's Volunteer Reserves Medal, and WO2 Gareth Williams on his Meritorious Service Medal. Truly outstanding and well-deserved recognition for them all.
This issue takes you from the training grounds of Cyprus, where Delta Company (1 R WELSH) has been honing its skills, to the challenging slopes of Mt Kenya on a demanding expedition with B (Rorke's Drift) Company. Meanwhile, back in Wales, the 3rd Battalion have been sharpening their urban combat skills during Exercise DRAGON STRIKE.
Closer to home, it was fantastic to see so many units, veterans, and cadets come together for the 1500th-anniversary parade in Bangor. We also have a report from the Cardiff Branch's recent battlefield tour of Normandy, and an update on the recent activities of the Clwyd & Gwynedd ACF.
You'll also find details on our new official clothing supplier, Black Mountain, and a report on the plaque unveiling for Colonel Frank Bourne of Rorke's Drift fame.
Don't forget to also check the 'Upcoming Diary Dates' section for important events, including full details on the Regimental Reunion (South) in Cardiff on Saturday 26th July.
Please do take a moment to read through the attached newsletter to catch up on all the stories. We hope you enjoy it.
