All,

I am currently researching Major P C wilson-Wilcox who served with the 1/RWF in Burma and wounded on the 14/04/1944 at Kohima. He then stayed with the regiment until the early 70s. He served many years in Cyprus and was an acting Lt Col. He was a boxer with the regiment and won the Army Championships in 1948.

I believe there in an Obit in Y Ddraig Goch in 1978 and wondered if anyone might have a copy or would have served with him.

Thanks All

Richard

There is a short Obituary in the March 1979 edition of the Y Ddraig Goch, but I can’t find any reference to one in the 1978.

Major PC Wilson-Wilcox

Peter Wilson-Wilcox died suddenly on 14th of October 1978 at the early age of 53. Born in 1924, he was commissioned in December 1943 and served in the Regiment until his retirement in 1966. He had a great capacity for enjoying life and lived each day zestfully, possessing a droll sense of humour. He would tell a joke against himself, cheerfully in adversity, he was a morale raiser, and will be missed by those officers who formerly served with him.

Bob thanks so so much for taking the time to do that.

Yes a short Obit so it appears yes i was wrong just the 1979 mentions him, he was wounded in Kohima in April 1944. 53 years of age very young.

Once again appreciated.

Richard, I have attached a copy of a War Diary that mentions his injury - apologies if you already have it!
