Earlier this week, it was announced military personnel would be getting a 6% pay rise – so we asked you what you thought of the increase.
In a poll on the BFBS Forces News YouTube channel, around 1,800 people voted with 52% of respondents saying the pay rise was the best that could be hoped for.
The second largest voting group said the pay rise was not enough, which took 38% of the vote, while only 10% of poll respondents said the pay rise was enough.
Along with the increase in pay, the MOD announced that the cost of military accommodation would also increase (https://www.forcesnews.com/housing/minister-defends-government-decision-increase-charges-military-housing) – a decision defended by Veterans and People Minister Al Carns.
Mr Carns maintains the cost of military housing remains cheaper than on civvy street.
