Brought back memories. Nice to see Bn HQ and Pay Office buildings are still there! Couldn’t see any of the bullet holes in the Pay Office wall, which were left there after Fus ‘Jimi’ Hendrix took fire from over the river while walking across the front on his way to Bn HQ. I have to wonder if he remembers it?

Yes! It took place takes place at Ebrington Square, which is now a public space and tourist attraction in Derry, built upon the former army parade ground at Ebrington Barracks.
The barracks were closed when 8 Infantry Brigade moved to Shackleton Barracks in 2003 and the area in front of the barracks was redeveloped as Ebrington Square in 2011.
