Hi, my name is Antonia Rapley and my father John Geraghty 3956090 served in the RWF from April 1928 until Nov 1945 retiring as a Sgt. I have received his service record from the veterans uk. The record indicates that he served in Malaya from Dec 1928 until 1931 then in India from 1931 until March 1936. During this period overseas he was mentioned in dispatches, probably in Malaya, then at some stage he became the Regimental goat major, an honour he would have been proud of.
However there is no record of his service in Malaya or India (He would have been at Waziristan on the NW frontier), the medals he would have received or record of Goat Major.
I would be very grateful if anyone knew how or where I could get hold of these important records and if I could apply for his medals that myself and his grandchildren would be proud of.
