8731 Pattison 1914 Star 2nd Bn

I have found on E Bay for sale a supposed 1914 Star for 8731 Pattison. However, given the price and the details stamped on the rear of medal to me does not ring true. Have done some research and have found a Peter Pattison DCM., number 8731 rank WO2, 2nd Bn. DCM awarded 21.6.1916 However, on his medal index card and medal roll card only shows a Victory Medal and British War Medal. Cannot find a service or pension record.
Can any one confirm that he would have qualified for the 1914 Star, I believe on the research that I have done the medal is a fake.

That is a known fake. It think many exists, they have gone round for many years.
