Unfortunately, both George and his wife Chris had contracted Covid-19 and both passed away with days of each other. George had served in both the RWF and the RRW in a long and distinguished career. He was a National Serviceman who volunteered to remain in the Army rising to be CSM B Company in Londonderry and the RSM 1 RWF in Tidworth in the mid-1970s. Following commissioning George served with both 1RRW and 3 RRW and was latterly the Adjt / QM of Wales UOTC. Details of the funeral are not known as George's daughters have also contracted the virus.
