My 13-year-old grandson had to do a project for his school work at home and he decided he wanted to write about his Great Great uncle Frederick Frank Balnaves of the 1st Bat RWF who died of his wounds 14th March 1915 just 3 weeks from his 19th Birthday. He watched the Destruction of a Battalion on U Tube, when he saw this he asked of the 2 Sergeant’s and the 45 men in which his Great Great uncle was one survived. How many of these men survived the war. Can anyone help in answering this question?
Fredrick Frank Balnaves arrived in France on 11/1/1915, and dying of wounds on 14/3/1915 might mean he was a casualty in or before the battle of Neuve Chapelle.
I’m not sure as to what your question on survivors mean though, so I’ll have to pass on that bit for now.
Kind regards,
Lars

One Sgt an 93 men I think, Brian. I can check my database for an answer to your question, but it will take some time. Don't hold your breath.
